Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sc01 For what it's worth.
Our old oven died on us. It was a basic oven much like this one. We are only looking to get a few years out of it before we completely renovate our kitchen but that doesn't mean we were willing to for go well cooked food.
So for what it's worth this oven is great. It's simple and basic. No need to read the user manual. The burners with different BTU's is awesome. Need to boil a big pot of water for pasta. Go with the front left. Slow simmer for sauce, back right. The oven is nice and spacious with a big window and it heats quickly.
It's not a luxury high end appliance. But that has no factor in how well it works. Great oven.
My average rating on energy efficiency was because gas is less efficient than an induction range. Otherwise I guess it is for a gas oven.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ShowDog A decent product
I purchsed this stove in December 2013 at a very good price, it has many fine features and is a well built stove.
The only comment I would make regarding a short fall in performance is the Broiler is only 10,000 BTU's, so I find it is weak on broiling foods. Before you purchase this model I would at least look at other brands or models, most if not all have much higher BTU's (usually 15-18,000 BTU's) in their broilers.
If you like to broil foods this is not the stove to purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bearboo2 Are you undecided?
I hope my review will help another person who is also undecided about making the investment in a gas range, and this model and brand in particular. I was undecided for several years because 1.) it would require me to drop the gas line in my kitchen (as it was currently 3 feet up from the floor), 2.) the original range I had pulled out had set my dog's tail on fire - luckily he had just had a bath so we were both wet, but otherwise we would have been badly burned and 3.) I was worried the floor would be damaged as they were damaged when the fridge was delivered and 4.) the cost.
It cost $165 in parts to drop the gas line and have the drywall repaired and repainted. A friend who is a licensed plumber did the work and did not charge me labor, but you can factor that into your cost. This range has a Lock feature that locks everything except the clock, timer and up-down arrows. Therefore, the dials cannot be accidentally turned on. (my dog is a Newfoundland-chow mix so as tall as the range and his tail is above the range, which is how it caught on fire). The Amana/Whirlpool/Maytage delivery company has a dedicated line for damages to either your home or the unit and they give you 48 hours to call and report anything even if you do sign the delivery paper. 90 min. after I signed, I noticed that the right side had a dent from the strap they used to hold the range onto the dolly. I was offered either a new unit or what they call a damage allowance and for my unit it would be $70. I got the unit on sale for $398 ( install kit, HD installation and 3 year extended warranty and tax it came to $537). For $19.99 you want them to install it! They install an anti-tip bracket (and will ask you if this is ok first). you can still move the range, it just won't tip forward if, e.g., there is a heavy pot on the front burner. They connect the gas line, put all the parts together, turn it on to make sure it works and hand you the operating manual before leaving. I debated a lot about the extended warranty, but I am the person where things always break at 1 year, 1 day. And, HD told me that if I did not have the warranty on Day 1, if there was something wrong with the unit I would have to deal with the Amana warranty people; HD wouldn't be responsible. I also looked up repair costs for my zipcode and one service fee was twice what the 3 year warranty plan cost so decided to get the 3 year extended warranty plan.
It is a true, bright white color (not that horrid navajo white or dirty white color that was the fad int he 90s). The burners are a medium to dark gray (not black), which I love since I hate black.
The oven is wide enough that I can cook 2 pans or cookie sheets on one rack and not have them over/covering the gas jets. Even though this is not a convection oven, I did not have to rotate the cinnamon rolls I was baking to get them baked evenly. Most importantly, the exterior range top, sides and door do NOT get really hot. They get warm and you can tell the oven is on, but nothing that would be uncomfortably hot to touch or dangerously burn either myself or my dog if we touched it while it was on. There is a drawer on the bottom where you can store pans. I thought I better just store metal pans there in case it got hot when the oven was in use, but it didn't get hot. So that is a really nice storage area to have for the broiler pan, cake pans and cookie sheets that never seem to fit nicely in the cupboards. Also, it has a feature where you can make the oven cook up to 30 degrees hotter or cooler to ensure you have a true temperature oven. So, no more "my oven bakes hot/fast" so the recipe needs to be adjusted scenario. And, even if your oven is a unit with a true "zero degree" starting point, you can make it start 30 degrees hotter and then that speeds up the broiling time. (The broiler was the one feature that the majority of reviewers disliked about the model. I have no issues with the broiler heat or time it takes to get hot.)
The burners are like any other gas range - turn on and off with an ignition switch (no match needed!) and when turned off the heat is truly off/gone. I like that my dials are on the front. Some ranges have them on the top or back, but if something is boiling over and really hot, I don't want my hand or arm anywhere near that. The very first day, my nephew dropped a marshmallow on the burner cover/cap which meant black burnt sugar everywhere in seconds. I let it cool to the touch and then cleaned it off with a sponge as the direction said to do. Came right off. My old stove would have retained the stain forever). I like that it has sealed burners so I don't have to worry if I accidentally boil over a pot of liquid.
I know that this is a lower end range, but I am very happy with it and I don't think you could do better for $398 ($537 total cost).
The only con of the experience is not with the range itself but with Home Depot. When I discovered that there was a dent on the right side 90 min. after it was delivered, I tried to contact HD via chat. No one ever picked up my chat. So, then I tried to call, but just kept getting voice prompts. I then sent an email. I received a response within 2 hours, but they just gave me another number to call. That person then told me to call claims. I called claims the next morning at 8am EST/ 5am PST. I called and was told I needed to call claims for damage to the unit; not my home. I called that number and was told this was a GE claims number and they told me that Amana is a Whirlpool/Maytag appliance. I called that number and was told it was only for service repair and they have me another number, etc. etc. I called a total of at least 9 phone numbers and options before I found the correct phone number to call. Very poor customer service, and if I ever need to invoke my warranty protection plan I sure hope they have better customer service.

Purchased range last year in August, 2014. Front burner fail to light up. Needed servicing in October, 2014. Same problem June, 2015. Service center inefficient. Needed to make multiple appointments to get product service.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by stangmaniac Noisy oven!
Love most everything about this range EXCEPT the oven...it is extremely noisy due to, I suspect, substandard metal in the oven/broiler area. Pops/bangs continuously during use. Never had this very annoying experience. Going to exchange it for a higher quality range that hopefully doesn't make you think there is a war going on in your kitchen. Even had the folks from Home Depot come check it out.

I love all of the features this range has. I compared this range to other similar ranges and feel it is an excellent buy.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by David4family One good, the other bad
We bought 2 ranges, "same" model but different colors One was white, the other stainless. The white one was everything we expected, very solid and reliable appliance. The stainless was cheaply made and trimmed down. While it was supposed to be the same model, it was clearly trimmed down only because it was stainless, very cheap. We had all sorts of problems with it and already returned it for a different range from a different brand.
