Donate your old dryer to someone. Use facebook or some other social media outlet. Used appliance
shops will pay you a small fee for your old unit. A needy family could get use out of it without filling up a landfill. Home Depot will take away your old unit and destroy it.

It is a 220 plug, 3 prongs usually. Look at the outlet you are using to see the configuration. I'd think an employee at Home Depot would be able to guide you.

You need a 220 volt outlet for this dryer to work properly. You then need to purchase a 220 volt cord and connector clamp. There is an opening on the back of the dryer with 3 screws (hex nuts with slots). I do not remember if there is a cover over the screws? If so remove the cover to expose the screws. Connect the 220 volt cord to these screws by following the directions. Also secure the clamp to hold the cord in place. Now your dryer should work fine. Read Less

Answer:
The directions for connecting the power cord are in the dryer manual. You have to purchase the power cord separately as there are 2 different types of prongs depending on your 220 volt configuration.
Also be sure that you have 220 volts for your dryer.
Hope this helps.

Answer:
By a basic wall plug, I believe you are referring to one for 110 volts. That may be why your dryer is not getting hot. It is designed to operate on 220 volts. Mine uses a 4 prong outlet into a 220 volt circuit. You must have a circuit designed for 220 volts and a wall plug designed for 220 volts also.

Answer:
The dryer should have been wired with a 3-prong heavy duty 240 volt plug. If yours has an ordinary 2-prong 120 volt plug, and you're connected to a standard 120 volt outlet, then you aren't getting enough voltage and current, and you should definitely contact your installer to have the proper plug connected. Just be sure that you have a 240 volt outlet in your laundry area for the 240 volt plug.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 1381 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value for Price This is not a bells and whistles dryer. This is a dryer you can afford on almost any budget. It's efficient and works well. I cannot speak to energy usage yet - but I would assume it's middle of the road. It's low-noise. There is no interior light - an odd choice in feature exclusion, but that's not critical to its operation. I don't give it five stars because it's not a five-star dryer. It's a very good dryer. There are likely better - and they are likely more expensive. This will suit your needs, most likely. Heavier users might want something a little more high-end. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty great dryer No problems so far! Seems to be working great. I'm happy. August 31, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by VERY LOUD This machine is very loud. It makes a buzzing noise as it washes, the running water is loud and the changes during the cycle are all loud clicking noises. My laundry is upstairs and even with the door closed the annoying buzzing as the drum turns is extremely annoying downstairs. How would you know until you actually use it? Therefore returning is even more annoying. Otherwise it gets the job done. August 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad for the price Really like this product. Only compliant is last spend cycle sometimes leaves the cloths to damp. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reliable Electrical Amana Dryer The Amana electrical dryer was easy to use and very quiet depending on what kind of clothes that are in there. it only gets noisy when there are jeans with metallic buttons and etc. Overall, the Amana dryer works wonderfully and the clothes gets dried quickly with less than 60 minutes of drying. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase Delivery personnel were great & no time.nstalled it in August 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Basic Dryer This is just a basic low end dryer, but it does the job. Biggest problem I have with it is the lint filter. It inserts in the top right hand corner of the dryer. Every time you remove it you get lint all over the top of the dryer. If you buy this keep a damp cloth handy because you will need it every time. September 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice affordable unit good dryer and the matching washer. Had these units but much older in the apartment we used to live in and bought these to save money when we moved into our house. If they are as reliable as the units in our apartment were we will be happy. August 16, 2016
