Easily make delicious homemade ice cream with the AmeriHome 6 qt. Old Fashioned Ice Cream Maker. Store bought ice cream can’t compare to the flavors of fresh ice cream. Gather the family together for summertime BBQs and enjoy a delicious, refreshing treat in about 30 minutes. This ice cream maker is just like the one grandma used to have, but has been improved with modern conveniences. The interchangeable design offers two ways to make ice cream: use either the electric motor or the hand crank. Let the electric motor do the mixing while you sit back and relax, or have the kids take turns using the hand crank. The electric motor can easily make homemade ice cream for a big group during a BBQ or party and it keeps your hands free. The hand crank gives you the flexibility to harden the ice cream mixture at the end of the mixing cycle without having to use a freezer. It’s great to use the hand crank while camping and you’re without electricity. Detailed instructions for making three tested and perfected flavors of tasty ice cream are included in the package. Choose classic vanilla, rich chocolate, or strawberry. Make it yourself at home to control the quality of the ingredients and the intensity of the flavors. Some store bought ice creams include chemical stabilizers and artificial flavors. You can make ice cream just the way you like it, without all the unnecessary additives.

  • Combo design offers two ways to make ice cream - easily switch between hand crank and electric motor in seconds
  • Makes up to 6 qt. of rich and creamy ice cream and sherbet
  • Makes soft ice cream in about 30 minutes
  • Includes aluminum can with clear plastic lid, sealed pine tub, ice crusher, and mixing paddle

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Family loves it. I was not sure about buying this based on some bad reviews, but Im glad I did. The motor did stop during the first time we were making ice cream, so I called the company to find out if I had a bad motor. They told me that sometimes the ice gets too hard and the motor cant turn so there's a safety switch that turns off the motor, they said just wait a moment or two and turn the motor back on..and guess what..that WAS the deal..My wife has her own recipes that she uses and she makes the best frozen custard/ice cream with peaches and strawberries with this. My 14 yr old twins love this too. We usually put ot out on the deck and just let it run until tis ready. I've had it since last Octobre and love it. March 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Three words: AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! This is by far the best ice cream maker I've ever had. Both the electric and old-fashioned hand-crank features work perfectly. Previous electric ice cream makers shut off before the ice cream was hard enough, leaving the ice cream in a soft-serve stage to quickly melt. This one, however, made the perfect ice cream. The hand-crank feature lets the kids have a taste of yesterday - taking turns cranking the cream. I highly recommend this product. May 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by fun but noisy Have made two batches of ice cream so far. Its pretty easy to but takes longer than the 45 minutes to get any consistency. First batch had to sit overnite in freezer before I could serve it. The machine itself is nice in that it can be used as an electric operated model or hand churned. So far I have only done the electric way. Its super loud so must be churned outdoors ( where it is still loud). Its really fun though and makes delicious ice cream. May 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect for church socials Bought this for our church and was very pleased with the performance. We have 2 of them now and we make several large batches at a time and no problems. Like that you can use manualy although have yet to try it. June 19, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Investment After purchasing countless plastic ice cream makers this is a great investment. This ice cream maker is sturdy and comes with both electric and hand crank. Not many ice cream makers include both. I highly recommend this product. January 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Ice Cream Maker for a large group We purchased this machine for our Cub Scout Pack. With a large group, on a overnight camp out, we needed a machine that has a large capacity, and one that was easy enough for the kids to crank. This machine fit the bill and made easy work of the churning. The added benefit is that there is an electric motor that can finish the work for you, when the scouts get tired. Bottom line, its a solid product that has held up through multiple camp outs and family gatherings. July 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This ice cream maker Rocks! Easy to assemble and of very good quality. I made ice cream with my young grandson and during the cranking process he asked, "Is this how everyone makes homemade ice cream?" I had to fess up and admit there we could hook it up to electricity, but this was more fun. Then he asked, "And this is more fun, how?" My response? "Because we get to do something together and visit while making some yummy ice cream!" He really could say nothing more than, "Right!" And the ice cream was delicious!!! July 2, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not as it seems This is a cheap knock-off of White Mountain. It is entirely over priced here and even more so elsewhere. The wooden bucket appears nice, but will probably last one season. The ice cream container is aluminum and all the rest is plastic. Even the hand crank mechanism is plastic. Don't be fooled by the metal exterior of the crank. The only positive feature is that it has a switch to turn it off, so you need not unplug the motor to check the ice cream. This is really no better than the Rival plastic bucket variety available at Walmart, though it is bigger. The only advantage over White Mountain is that the motor is not as loud. June 17, 2014
