I was tired of buying cracked corn that has too many full kernels in the mix. So I looked online to fine a 'grinder' to grind it myself. Several stores had similar products but for one reason or another they could not fulfil my needs for the purchase. One of your national competitors could not send it to a store close to me without a fee. I finally looked on Home Depot's web site the item was priced right and could pick it up at a store in Greenfield, IN. The product arrived before schedule and in perfect condition.

I was disappointed that the price at the store was about $10.00 more than the one on the web site. But mainly I was surprised that there were no instructions with the grinder. For someone that doesn't have a mechanical background this would be a hard one to figure out, but after about an hour I was able to get it adjusted to grind the product I needed it for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Where Do I Start? The counter clamp is so narrow it won't hardly get a bite on anything. The grinder plate on auger is mounted so crooked that one side is spitting out whole corn and the other side is so tight that the plates are grinding together. Hopper is such a loose fit that particles are falling through the seam. Nothing with this grinder is symetrical, and all pieces are such a loose sloppy fit that is looks like the cast iron was shaped out with a hammer. Wing nuts have nothing to tighten against so they spin off at free will. I am cracking whole corn for chicken feed so it's not like I'm expecting it to do much. I don't usually do reviews but the with the construction of this grinder, I just HAD to!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This certainly grinds nuts to a powder which is more than I wanted however, the item does what it advertises: This product requires the minimal of assembly and because it has removable parts it is easily cleaned. It is made of cast iron, is heavy and should last forever. I'm sure that in the future if I need something ground, this tool will do it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Questionable This grinder was bought with the intention of grinding rice and corn. will not grind down to flour size..only granular. has a metallic tin coating covering the entire unit including the grinding plates. I called the distributor and they informed me of this. When grinding, the metallic coating comes off the grinding plates into the food you are grinding.....bad. The company said the metallic tin coating is food safe but having this paint in my food is not appealing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great To Grind Corn Shipping was faster than expected. Tool works great to grind corn, have not tried to grind anything else. For the $, you want find a better product. Well built, Seems to be heavy duty. Makes a little mess, gf sent me outside with it.:)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay Grinder The grinder was easy to assemble however it did not grind the flower fine enough and was kind of loud.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointing I bought this specifically to grind corn as an additive to my bread making ("cracked corn"). The corn had to be put through twice and still was unacceptable. I ended up having to finish it in the coffee grinder. I could get past the mess that it made and the cumbersome design if it had done a good job, As it is, I would not recommend this to anyone else. I would return it, but now I have used it. sad.
