Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the half screen can be moved to the top portion of the frame so that the top sash can be open. Full screens retail in the range of $20 to $30 approximately. Please contact an associate at your local Home Depot for details. For additional product information, please visit www.americancraftsmanwindows.com.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 109 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprised By the Quality To start UPS sent the window back to Home Depot during shipment because the window got broke. When the new window arrived it surprised us to find it was a better quality than we expected. The window was easy to install, the hardest part was taking out the old sashes since they were painted shut. People that are complaining about this window I am thinking they did not go the extra mile to make sure the window is air tight. This has nothing to do with the window and everything to do with making sure the area around the window is insulated. Remember older windows have weights in a cavity, make sure to fill that gap with insulation or something to block the cold air from coming in. We are in the process of buy 4 more of these exact windows for other replacements. June 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good These windows were easier to install than we thought. We have replaced 10 windows and so far everything is good. They were shipped sooner than what was stated and everything was intact. The best part is we now don't here a noisy neighbors as much as we used to. June 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by installed hundreds and it is worst window ever we had a problem with the window from day one. a tension spring was broke. had to wait for anderson to decide what to do. they sent out another frame to install my window in. frame was not welded and window weight broke another tension spring. they sent out a tech to put another spring in. it took 6 months at this point. plastic over window because it was winter. tried to get the window sealed so the fiber seal touch's the sliding window all year. no go. here we are winter again and going to put plastic up again. it is a very large window. 36 by 70. weak frames!! as the window slides up you can see the frame deflecting and the window slips out of the springs. I have installed hundreds of replacement windows and this is the first one that i have used, and the first one I can not get to seal. do NOT waste your money November 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect windows for our Cottage These windows were perfect for our cottage since the screens are 1/2 screens which give us a "clear" view to look out at the lake. They were easily installed. They look great and the price was right!! June 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great window and easy to install Well made and easy install makes the windows a great value. They are good looking, and with new wood interior trim and blinds gives the house a new look. Went on line to see how to replace 65 year old windows in a cinder block ranch house. Saw some youtube examples and made measurements.Went to Home Depot who helped me select the right window. Came home, disassembled the old window, siliconed the remaining frame and slid the new window in place. It fit perfectly with no shimming. It also looked so nice I decided to replace all the interior trim. So back to Home Depot for whitr primed trim. First window took an hour, with trim 3 hours. Everything went so well and looked so good I did all 7 windows. Last one took an hour , with the trim. November 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Order the insulated frames!! After remodeling my home with 3" of ridge foam, new windows & doors, I would like to share these thoughts. Most of my windows where 70 style. First 5 where off the shelf of Home Depot. The rest where custom sizes I had to order. The saleman that help me order the first custom size windows was a god sent. He push for adding insulated frame option. About $14 a window, trust me this is a no brainer! This is a MUST HAVE OPTION, even if the size you need is on the shelf!!! I will be replacing those first 5 without the insulated frames. My sun porch has the custom order windows with the insulated frame. The lower 18" kick wall below them has 1" outside of ridge foam on the outside, has a thermal break for code. We never shut the door to this room, thats how good these windows are! The 5 windows coming out are side my coach. On a cold day I thought wife had open a window. There is no other draft in our house. Too heat the 1400 square foot house on the coldest days with 1 bag of pellets good. Thats will be improved when I insulate the floor better. Pros Buy custom order with insulated frames. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by no complaints Home depot was the only store that carried this size in stock. Being able to buy this window at this price was a nice. The other windows I installed were jeld wen. I like the upper handle on the 70 series much better. The upper handles on this window are much more sturdy. October 22, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Reasonably priced replacement windows I needed to replace two windows and would replace two more of the same size if and when I located them. My local stores did not have any in stock. HD about 20 miles away showed 3 in stock. I ordered them on-line. They actually physically had 4 in stock, so I purchased all 4. New windows were very easy to install. Old windows can be removed from either inside or outside of home. I have done it both ways (on a one story house) and prefer outside removal. The 60 year old windows would probably have required 8 hours each to maximize their looks and function. To remove old and install replacement windows took about 2 hours each. New windows look much better, are easy to open and clean, and are probably much more efficient due to double glazing. 2 of 4 windows were missing a sill plate plastic strip, 1 had a hole in the screen and 1 had badly damaged/seriously bent sash lift bar (that still functions). Other than those issues, I'm satisfied with the windows and expect them to maintain their design specifications for 5-7 years, which is the lifetime - in my opinion - of these types of vinyl windows.
