I need to replace two 28.25 x 62 windows in my child's bedroom, is there a style that can be custom ordered to meet the 5.7 sq ft requirement for egress? My house is 135 years old, this addition is ~80 years old, and I would like to keep it as original as possible. My town does have a grandfather clause in the building codes for replacement windows but I would like to get as close to egress code as I can without widening the opening (that would require a complete redesign on the exterior, in addition to replacing the original interior trim, both of which are way outside my budget).

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent value The series 70 double hung buck window is an excellent window! I replaced 7 110 year old windows and every one went in with no problem! The craftsmanship is excellent. Now the series 50 is a whole nother story! Poorly made, flimsy, header spacer is junk....not pre drilled for installation....the money you save on the 50 series will be ate up in way more installation time. Series 70 is the way to go! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Repacement Windows American Craftsman 28 x 62 double Hung LowE3 Argon. I purchased 3 of these windows for remodel of my downstairs and they are the best, I watched the video online, on how to install and it was easy and they look great. They were installed in October just before it started getting cold and I can tell a huge difference in temperature in the house and the furnace run time. I will also purchase these windows for the remodel of the upstairs. I recommend these windows for the DIY person and it's a great satisfaction doing it yourself with great results. November 8, 2013
