I was replacing an old builder's grade wood window in a bathroom. I removed the old one and measured the rough opening after it was removed so I would have a good dimension. I hate using replacement windows because you often lose a lot of the glass space to the new frame. This frame went in very easy, I lifted the siding, and screwed it to the outside of the house, sealed with caulking and put in new trim on the inside. Pretty easier and about half the time I expected to take.

I purchased one of these windows 4 years ago when I remodeled my bedroom and I decided to purchase two more. Now all of my bedroom windows are the same and I have noticed significant noise reduction and better efficiency from my window air conditioner.

We have now replaced 18 windows in our house. 16 of the 18 installs went well. However, the last two windows we purchased were missing the head expander (or cap) piece upon purchase. We did not know this until the day of the actual install after we had 2 big holes in the side of our house waiting to slip the windows into place. Since Home Depot did not have extra head expander pieces, and after many phone calls and several trips to local stores that specialize in windows, we found a local window installer who had a few extra head expanders laying around that we were able to purchase. My recommendation: Make sure you check the package for all pieces when you get it home so you don't run into this same problem!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rick Very good window for the price
I added this window during a bathroom remodel. I may opt for higher quality windows when I replace all of the existing single pane wooden windows(stained inside), but this is in a location that allowed using a vinyl window. I could not find double hung new construction with full screen in this size in any local big box or window outlets. Online ordering was easy and the window was delivered promptly and well packaged.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CWKLLA Great Window for the money!
I was in desperate need of 10 replacement windows for our home. The old windows were replacements from approx 1984 as per one window Co..that came out to give us an estimate. Three contractors later prices to provide and install the 10 windows, each with their own brand, exceeded $9,000 and one as high as 12K.....I decided to take apart and remove the single worst window in our home.....very easy to do. then I researched window brands and based on several factors incld price we decided to go with these. Each one was a custom size but two very well versed employees at our local HD helped to refine each one. They came in on time,....about 3 weeks, and although one had a broken glass they were packed nicely for protection with everything included.....they got another one ordered immediately for rush delivery so no big deal. I've vested a total of about 2.5 hrs into each window's meticulous install....from removal to new window to minor trim and paint. All but 4 of the windows fit like a glove and that's because the wood framing on our home had settled slight so I had to modify each a little to fit. To do this I just took a rasp and removed a bit of the excess vinyl from each as necessary...only added about 20 mins to each install, but they now fit like a glove. The windows have been in since last Sept 2014 and so far so good. Doing the windows on my own with the help of HD was very rewarding and saved me a ton of money. There is a lifetime warranty on the windows but my honest expectation is to get 10 years out of them looking good......considering we put up with the old, broken seal, moisture filled windows for 11 years. I know there are more expensive windows on the market, but for our needs these LoE 3 ARGON filled AC windows were a perfect fit for us and budget. Our home not only looks new but we've increased the value considerably...... I would recommend sitting with your local Rep at the HD and let them work with you on your project, and recommend the AC series 70 windows.
BTW use a top quality white or tinted silicone on the outside when sealing....you will be glad you did!
