Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the half screen can be moved to the top portion of the frame so that the top sash can be open. Full screens retail in the range of $20 to $30 approximately. Please contact an associate at your local Home Depot for details. For additional product information, please visit www.americancraftsmanwindows.com.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Messy glass Windows were easy to install and work nicely. However, there was caulking all over the glass. It was very difficult to remove and I finally gave up on some of it. Went to hardware store for a cleaner but they told me to use a razor blade which scared me on brand new windows. So I guess I have to live with it. Kind of disappointing. Probably would have returned them if we hadn't taken out the old windows already and live 45 minutes from Home Depot. So if you buy these windows you might want to inspect the glass first. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Andersen or Home Depot quality; Cannot Recommend! We selected the American Craftsman windows because they were described by The Home Depot salesman as being 'made by Andersen to Andersen standards.' Even if that was true in letter, it was hugely misleading in spirit. Although all these windows were installed satisfactorily and functioned much better than the single pane metal frame windows they replaced, we regret this purchase after the springs began to break. Home Depot personnel promptly referred us to the manufacturer, now under the name Silverline, for any help in resolving 'our problem.' Window warranty proved to be useful only for providing replacement springs and minimal information about dismantling the window to minimize damage in replacing the springs. In retrospect, Home Depot and Silverline might do better by selling these windows in kit form, since the buyer will need to become assembler in order to maintain them due to poor quality of parts. Where did the 'American Craftsman' go? Were these somehow inferior by being non-union made? Or, did we save twenty cents per window by purchasing foreign materials assembled by Americans? Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by East Install... good window for the money. I shopped at Home Depot and another major DIY retailer. The other store did not have 30X58 windows for immediate purchase. Home Depot had two different models available, the 50 Series and the 70 Series. I initially purchased two 50 Series windows, after getting them home and unwrapping one of them I noticed there were several areas where the vinyl was warped and uneven. some areas would be hidden by trim but one area would be in plain view. I repackaged it and returned both and then purchased the 70 Series. The quality and workmanship are worth the few extra dollars. Installation was extremely easy and without a hitch. My granddaughter's room is quitter and warmer now. We will be purchasing these windows for the remaining windows. November 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great windows! Easy to install, great looking windows I love them July 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First Windows I have ever changed. I had never experienced a home repair such as this. We looked at that other large do it yourself store, and they were no help at all. While browsing Home Depot I managed to find the exact measurements that I had been searching all over town for. Not to mention, the double pane and double hung features, with tilt in for cleaning. Installation was a breeze. Once the old window was completely removed, and yes I mean old, they were the originals on a 83 year old house, installation was truly a breeze. It fit the 30 x 58 opening like a glove. Absolutely no complaints here for this product. I changed the whole house with American Craftsman windows after my first window was such an easy task. All in all, Eight windows were changed I strongly would recommend these windows to others. They are worth the money and then some. Do yourself a favor, and don't let the cold air blow on you from your ancient windows while you are relaxing on your couch this winter. Invest in these. October 6, 2013
