I bought about 17 windows 8500 double hung between in 2009 and 2010 but in Winter 2010 I find out that some of the windows had issues. In october 2010 after reporting that to home depot and transfer to your company, Silverline sent a technician to my house a couple months later you guys sent me some BALANCE PLUGS. The following year same problem again I reported it again you guys send me some BUMPERS for the header to tightened the windows I have about 7 windows doing that out of 17 and they all in different part of the house. So if someone have this kind of problem its not unlikely because I am not the only one reported this. This is my third years every winter, I the same problem with the same windows. I have nothing wrong against the company it but I spent that kind of money for at least do a follow up, poor customer service from Silverline. To be honest 10 of them works fine and this year I bought 3 more the 70 model double hung with double latches this year. This year again I contacted the manufacture on the 11/08/2013 they told they do not cover services for these windows anymore but to have a technician come over to look at them it will cost me about $200 but no guaranty. Last time I check they have a 10 year manufacture or lifetime warranty on them. So be aware people when and where you buying your windows no SILVERLINE because any manufacture defects are not cover. After installing your window double check them on winter for leaks.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TH4609 Great Window choice
The window was well packaged and arrived without any defect or damage. The instructions for installation were available on-line which surprised me at first but they were easy to locate and download. I only printed out the pages that were applicable to my project. The window was well made and attractive. Thankfully, the existing window's rough opening was square which made for a simple installation. I added fiberglas insulation around the window, filling the empty spaces completely. Home depot sells this product which helps seal what would otherwise be a big energy loss source. My wife appreciated the fact that I didn't have to use expanding foam insulation which tends to get everywhere! A final bead of caulk on the exterior and painting the wood stops completed the project.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by GofPa Not for sub zero temps.
While these windows seem to be of good enough quality for the price they are NOT made for areas that get sub-zero temps. They do not seal very well at extreme cold temps. I am certain the windows were installed properly. I feel no noticeable leaks but at negative 8 degrees every one of the 8 windows installed frost up at the bottom of each pane as much as 4 inches up. We have forced air heat with plenty of air circulation and the inside humidity is usually around 20 %.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tami Perfect windows for our Cottage
These windows were perfect for our cottage since the screens are 1/2 screens which give us a "clear" view to look out at the lake. They were easily installed. They look great and the price was right!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MIKES Great window and easy to install
Well made and easy install makes the windows a great value. They are good looking, and with new wood interior trim and blinds gives the house a new look.
Went on line to see how to replace 65 year old windows in a cinder block ranch house. Saw some youtube examples and made measurements.Went to Home Depot who helped me select the right window. Came home, disassembled the old window, siliconed the remaining frame and slid the new window in place. It fit perfectly with no shimming. It also looked so nice I decided to replace all the interior trim. So back to Home Depot for whitr primed trim. First window took an hour, with trim 3 hours. Everything went so well and looked so good I did all 7 windows. Last one took an hour , with the trim.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by jzbcnu Reasonably priced replacement windows
I needed to replace two windows and would replace two more of the same size if and when I located them. My local stores did not have any in stock. HD about 20 miles away showed 3 in stock. I ordered them on-line. They actually physically had 4 in stock, so I purchased all 4. New windows were very easy to install. Old windows can be removed from either inside or outside of home. I have done it both ways (on a one story house) and prefer outside removal. The 60 year old windows would probably have required 8 hours each to maximize their looks and function. To remove old and install replacement windows took about 2 hours each. New windows look much better, are easy to open and clean, and are probably much more efficient due to double glazing. 2 of 4 windows were missing a sill plate plastic strip, 1 had a hole in the screen and 1 had badly damaged/seriously bent sash lift bar (that still functions). Other than those issues, I'm satisfied with the windows and expect them to maintain their design specifications for 5-7 years, which is the lifetime - in my opinion - of these types of vinyl windows.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rickysms I think this is one of the best products I've used in my kitchen renovation.
The first window of two took 3 hours to install, the second only took an hour and a half. Quick learning curve, especially for a home dating 1888. Could not believe the window fit so perfectly. Hoo-Ra American Craftsman.
