I installed this into a brick home. One of the 13 windows went into a dormer that had Hardie board siding and that was the only window that had the nailing fin. All the others had the fin removed. I'm not familiar with the smart panel siding.

Yes, as long as it does not include a "j" channel and it is taped and caulked properly.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for the money and easy to install When I moved into my house I was looking at $500 a month energy bills in the peak of summer. A new energy efficient air conditioner brought it down to $300 and then two years ago, thirteen of these windows brought it down to $150 a month. My old bronze aluminum windows were original to the house in 1985 and had been repaired at least once. I could tell by the black tar-like substance running down between the panes. My wife and I watched several You Tube videos on how to replace windows and we were hooked. We shopped around and then bought all 13 custom sizes at Home Depot. Two weeks later they were ready and we installed the first window the next weekend. We took a few months but could install a window easily in a couple hours. We would have been done faster but an upstairs dormer needed some new siding, trim and paint with the new window, plus I had to screw up the courage to crawl up there to do the work. We had about $2500 in the job compared to a few quotes from contractors starting at $6000. Installation might have been cheaper but I didn't hold back on the insulation and clear silicone around each window frame. First thing we noticed was how much better our house looked and it was much quieter. May 29, 2015
