Customer Questions & Answers

can you put the door on a different wall what gauge wire

Asked by: moose
No, with this kit the door is in one place alone, the bigger kits looks like you can have the door in two or three different areas depending on the setup.

Dimensions

The title states 6ft. x 10ft. x 6ft. but under the Specs dimensions it shows no 10ft. dimension. Depth is listed as 74.875" and then H and W are listed at 72". 10ft should obviously be listed as 120". How large is this kennel?

Can 2 of the kits be combined to make a 16'x16' enclosure with 2 gates?

Asked by: Bill
Yes you can. I did it. It just takes a bit of creativity. We made ours into an L shape. The only additional hardware we got were these u shaped things readily available at the fencing section at Home Depot to hold it to the garage since we opt to have one side not fenced in (because it's up against the garage). Otherwise, we used up most of the items provided in both kits.

There are so many mixed reviews. Will this be strong enough to hold a playful energetic 8month pitbull?

Asked by: Help
Yes I have a 4 month old german shepherd.

6 ft. x 10 ft. x 6 ft. Chain Link Kennel Kit is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 188.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from For the Money Good Purchase As others noted this isn't the most industrial dog kennel. However when constructed correctly will contain a +70lbs Bloodhound. The two main issues with the setup are the chainlink fence which is of a lower quality and being rolled up in the box cause it to be a extreme pain to unroll with out breaking or bending multiple sections. This part of construction will take 95% of your time, but is crticial to the overall structure. So if looking for a quicker to assemble kennel keep looking. The Last issue with the kennel is the latch, which doesn't tighten correctly with out a spacer of some sort. And a Kennel without a latch is garbage. TL:DR - Good kennel for handy people with time, otherwise not the kennel for you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not strong, wont last long I bought this kennel about 8 mos ago. Assemble took longer than advertised it was about a 7 of 10 on a difficulty scale. I bought a tarp for it but after rainfall the pressure of water accumulated on it bend the kennels' inner tube posts on both sides causing it to appear as if it is about to sink in. My other dogs kennel an inch beside it had same tarp yet the kennel is a much stronger one that has laster about 8 yrs now with no tube bending. My dog leaning against kennel easily bent the wiring of chain fence and was able to easily get out of it various times. The kennel became trash after 8 months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dog kennel The posts and rails are light, but ok. The door only works in one corner. This was a problem so I installed one corner post upside down and made it work. The there were not enough ties. I bought an extra bag as suggested and ran out! I finished with tie wire! The light gauge chain link or tangled when folded for shipping. When untangled it got messed I atbthe bottom in several places and when attached to the rails, I came up about a foot short! I had to go to a fencing company and buy another 6' of chain link so I could splice in back to the center pole!

We purchased this product a year ago and one rain and snow storm demolished it. The bolts, even some poles broke in half all rusted and collapsed from the wind. I have to say i'm very disappointed in this product line. I purchased 3 for my dog kennel area and all 3 fell apart in one year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not so Good You pay less, you get less I guess. Dogs chewed their way through constantly and it was pretty much a nightmare to put together. Weak material. It's probably good if you have a small dog or want to re-purpose it for something like a greenhouse or chicken coop.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from pure junk I purchased this kennel for to of my dogs. Collapsed on them in a light rain. Zero stars if I could. Bad and missing spot welds. Cheap material. Purchased roof for extra. It helped caused collapse. Home depot should pull product from shelf.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap material Manufacturer says "for small to large dogs". My dog weighs 50 lbs. She was able to separate the entire lower portion of the chain link material. I even bought extra wire to secure the chain link. This is the absolute worst product.
