Product Overview

All-Surface rug pad gripper provides a firm foundation feel underfoot, while protecting your flooring and rug investment. A low profile, thinner construction than the Premium All-Surface rug pad gripper, this pad allows the rug to lay flatter to the floor, while allowing doors to open with ease. This reversible rug pad gripper was designed for use on all indoor floor surfaces such as tile, hardwood, laminates, linoleum, concrete, or on rug-to-carpet applications. It will help keep your area rug in place to avoid slipping or tripping of moving rugs, and make vacuuming easier. It’s the ideal product to smooth out grout lines, and furniture indentions. Purchase yours today.

In specifications it says this pad is green. Does that mean no off-gassing?

"Green" reference in specifications. What does that mean?
Asked by: Pete

If you have had the rug pad down for a while on hardwood floor and remove it will the floor underneath it slippery?

Asked by: Henrietta
On a hardwood floor or other hard surface application you will place the rubber side facing down on the floor with the "scratchy" fiber side facing up on the rug pad. The rubber backing on the pad does not leave the floor slippery after removing it.

How much should the rug overlap the pad?

Thinking 8 x 11 pad for 9 x 12 rug?
Asked by: Mark
The rug pad size should be slightly smaller than the size of the area rug. Trim the rug pad with a sharp scissor or razor knife, enough to allow the area rug to lay flat to the floor on the edges of the rug. This “border allowance” will vary upon the thickness of the area rug. A thicker rug will require more rug pad to be trimmed, to allow the area rug to lay flat at the surface. General rule of thumb is trimming the rug pad to a size 1” less on area rugs 4’x6’ & smaller, and 2” less on area rug sizes 5’x8’ or larger. On a 9’x12’ rug that would equate to a trimmed pad 106”x142”. Our rug pads represent a full size pad.

Would this padding be OK for under carpet stair treads?

Asked by: Kmorg
With several unknown conditions, such as what is the surface of the stairs, or stair rods being used, what is the stair treads made of, which all could lead to a trip hazard we would be declined to recommending usage of any non slip rug pad.

Anyone else having trouble with slippage on wood floors?

I have had this rug pad for only 3 months and I would not call it non-slip. It's rubber side down on wood-laminate flooring, under a 3x5 rug. Every time I clean the room I have to move the rug back about 6 inches. Not sure how it only skids in one direction, but that's what it does.
Asked by: Jan
yes, mine slips all the time.

Which size pad is best?

I am interested in purchasing this size rug pad for an indoor outdoor rug that measures 3' 9"by 5'5". Is the 3'by5' size too small? Do I need to buy the larger size and trim it down?
Asked by: granny
I think it will work as close to size

safe against spills

does the rubber backing prevent spill from penetrating onto hardwood surfaces?
Asked by: carol
not sure, might be like any rug with backing. If you spill something it might go all the way through.

However, area rugs with a foam backing did not stop slipping, only slowed down the slippage. Otherwise, product works wonderfully.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Qualiltiy product, but not for hardwood floors The rug pad does not hold area rugs firmly on hardwood surfaces. With everyday foot traffic the rugs travel. However, it looks like a quality product and may work when using on top of carpeting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slipping and Sliding... This product does NOT keep a runner in place atop carpeting! No matter how we tweak the placement it fails our use miserably!!

Bought 2 4x6 pads, thin version, to use in front of doors - area rug on hardwood floor. They are staying in place in spite of 3 dogs (40 to 75 lbs) running in and out the door and through the foyer. The same dogs used to surf on the rugs with my old pads, but these are staying in place - one may have moved an inch. I just bought another to use for the hall runner and 2 to use on the tile floor in the basement. Seemed a little expensive at first, but totally worth it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hardly works at all! Purchased this product for a 21' hallway runner to stop the runner from migrating sideways up the wall. Cut the product into two pieces and placed under the runner. Now BOTH migrate! The creeping has slowed somewhat. Now we have to re-place BOTH items about 2X a week instead of 3X. Also cut pieces for two small (2'x3') rugs in front of our recliner chairs. The little rugs also continue to creep. The pad creeps with the rugs. I've tried flipping the pad material over, but it was worse.

The 8' x 11' pad was delivered to my doorstep rolled onto a hard cardboard cylinder, making it easy to unroll with no fold lines. We were able to cut the 1/4" fiber and rubber backed pad with a large, sharp scissors for the size we needed. We're happy with the product.

However, it is under a rug runner in a high traffic hallway so it seems I have to adjust it about once a week as it shifts about two inches or so. Otherwise, good purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DOES NOT WORK The rug placed on top of the pad will not stay in place. The rug pad actually stays on the hardwood just fine but the problem comes when placing the rug on the pad. I've had to use tape to keep it in place and that is not ideal.
