Stopper never worked! Chrome at top and bottom are now pitting. Only in service for 6 months, couldn't be more displeased. What a piece of junk! Consumers need to avoid the tub that requires this overflow. What a shame for a company to sell this trash. Only alternative is to replace ever six months at a price of $75.00 to keep a newly remodeled bath looking new, Buyer beware!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nlpqnr Works fantastic American standard help gave fast response!
I have seen several comments about parts not being available for this item. Received ours and honestly we have had it awhile but finally got installed with AS whirlpool tub. BUT the stopper was not working. I called the 800 number (now available on Saturday too) and within minutes my replacement part is on the way. No hassle no fuss. Wish it wouldn't have been broken out of the box but if replacement is this easy we are A-Okay!!! Much prefer brass to PVC or plastic so this was the choice for us.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Marydb Stopper failed after four months
Toe-tap stopper failed after four months and tub won't hold water. The replacement part is back-ordered, which doesn't surprise me based on other reviews. What does surprise me is that American Standard hasn't re-designed this stopper since it appears to be so unreliable. Cheap rubber one works fine for now, but is a big disappointment after expensive snazzy bathroom remodel. Too bad there are no other drain options to use with the tub.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by malcolmr At least it's pretty
I bought this drain because it's the only one that will fit my American Standard Jet tub. It was fairly easy to install (with 2 people) and is sturdy. The problem I've had is that the drain will not adjust enough to get a good seal and hold water. I came on here to see if others had this problem and had found a solution. Seems almost everyone had a problem with this and the only real solution I saw was to use a rubber stopper. I hate that I have this really nice and expensive drain and now it seems I'll be using a rubber plug. :-( . But at least it's pretty.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jammin Works as it should
Heard a lot of reviews about the drain being faulty. I have had this product about three months now and have to say we have not had a single issue with the functionality of the product. Works great and looks great. Can not beat being able to soak in such deep waters as this drain allows. My only complaint was that about a month after install of the drain the name plate on the cover of the drain began to lift slightly in one corner, but it was a small cosmetic fix that superglue took care of.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ChoukyB Good product but pop-up leaks
Overall good quality product, easy to install, with the exception of the pop-up which gets stuck and /or leaks because it does not close properly and let the water drain.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RVPilot Supplied gasket is wrong size
Bought this drain to go with an American Standard soaking tub I purchase at the same time. Installed this drain and it leaked like a sieve. With the drain screwed in as tight as possible, the gasket still had a 1/32 gap between it and the tub bottom. Once I realized the gasket was the wrong size, I went back to Home Depot and bought a Danco tub drain gasket p/n 88349 which is 3/8" thick and problem solved. Otherwise the drain appears to work pretty well. I'm giving a low rating, due to the hassle of having to install several times to diagnose the problem and having to make and additional trip to get the part that should have come with the product in the first place. This drain is supposed to be specifically designed for the tub I purchased.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by KGar Like others, drain does not hold water-wrong gasket size?
We purchased this product in April 2014, but due to various reasons, just got around around to using the tub it is installed in last night. Angry that after all this time, finally able to enjoy a nice, soaking bath, we are unable to use BECAUSE THE TUB WILL NOT HOLD WATER. Wrong size gasket? Poorly designed drain stopper? Malfunctioning drain stopper? Not sure yet. Until we call American Standard and figure it out will be using an old fashioned rubber stop-up plug with chain if we can find one that fits, that is. The plug is designed to be adjusted to fit further into the drain pipe if needed so that when depressed the plug will go all the way down and stop up the water, but when we adjusted all the way, there is still a sizable gap between plug and bottom of tub. we'll see how the rest of the product holds up over time.
