Customer Reviews

5-Function Handshower and Showerhead Combo Kit in Brushed Nickel is rated 2.2 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money After reading reviews from other sites I purchased this model. I consider myself handy and have installed many of these in the past. The installation was easy but the product leaked at several of the connections even though I followed the instructions and used Teflon tape where required. Trying to tighten the connections resulted in cracking one of them due to plastic construction. In addition, I used the self adhesive tape to hold the bar in place which would not hold even after the required cleaning of the area and 12 hour wait period. The suction cup method may work better if you have the right surface for that. Over all the quality of this product is very poor especially for 88 bucks!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Are you kidding me with this? I'm not convinced the people who designed this shower head actually tested it before shipping it to stores. Pros: It looks awesome. Cons: The suction cup doesn't suction. It leaks from one of the joints at the top, not where it connects into your existing plumbing. The backflow valve drains when you turn the shower off. If you have a narrow shower, like myself, it will splash water out of the shower upsetting you even more. The water pressure is APPALLING. Conclusion: For ~$80 bucks, it actually made my shower worse! This is a step backwards for shower heads everywhere. I'm taking this back as soon as it dries out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks due to poor design, should be recalled The first unit bought leaked. The second replacement leaked even worse. I wish I could give it zero stars. The ball socket at the top is poorly designed and should be considered defective. It was very loose from the factory. After inspecting and disassembling, you can see the white plastic inside the ball socket will accept an allen/hex to tighten the connection, thus forcing down a split ferrule onto an o-ring (this ought to be good and tight from the factory). While doing so improved the fit and it no longer sprayed out, it still dripped considerably. This product should be pulled from the shelves, the ball socket re-engineered, and tightly assembled by the manufacturer. Most of the reviews of this unit at the manufacturer, American Standard, confirm the issue. A number of people have replaced the split ferrule but I don't know how successful the repair is. Terrible, terrible item. Please pull from the shelves and save everyone the time and expense. I feel that you owe me gas money for the TWO times I returned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Making It Work! I purchased this unit when I remodeled our front bath. The install wasn't too hard, but it was a bit confusing. I agree with the other customers who had a problem with the suction part of the unit. Any movement at all will disconnect the bar from the wall. Also the double stick tape they put on the optional appliance is useless after a few showers. I finally took it on myself to figure out how to adhere the bar unit to the wall without having it come away so quickly. First I unscrewed the plastic unit that holds the suction and double stick tape. There is also a washer that comes out with it, be sure to understand how it goes together. I bought 3M "WATERPROOF" command replacement strips. I cleaned my tile as instructed for the command strips. I also took the old double stick tape off the round unit it was stuck to. I used Goo Gone, and it did take some time but the command sticks better when everything is clean and flat. Next I layed the STRIPS together, touching each other, and traced the circle off the piece that I cleaned, then I trimed the group of strips to fit on the round piece of plastic. (I hope I'm explaining this correctly). I put the red side of the command strip on the clean round piece of plastic, and the black wall side to the tile. I used a small level to keep the bar straight while sticking it to the tile. I've had no problem with the bar staying where it belongs. Its been up now for about a month and it seems to be holding well. I know this sounds like a lot of trouble, but I love this system, and I didn't have to drill holes in my new tile. Also its allows for more options, if I want to change it later.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible. Do not buy this product. This shower head leaked from the beginning and no amount of pipe thread or gaskets would stop the flow. After less than 9 months, while adjusting the top shower head, it snapped off. Last, the mechanics of the design make it difficult to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great looking showerhead but needs improvement This you can only install once. 1.If for any reason you have to rewmove it and reinstall, it will leak. 2.The adhesive on the round part that mounts to the wall keeps coming out. It needs a stronger adhesive pad or one that can bolt on. 3. The handheld portion will slide on the vertical bar. It would also be great if the bar was longer so that little kids could more easily reach it. For the price, it has the looks. It is a tough one to recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great! No issues after 3 months of use. It seems like a lot of people have problems with this product; for me it is working great and certainly in terms of value beats the $800. price tag of similar products. Sure it is plastic and may not last 20 years, but again $90 bucks vs. $800. I used the adhesive cup to attach the bottom of the rod after the tile wall, smooth matt finish, was cleaned with alcohol. The instructions don't explain using the Teflon tape, but if the tape is installed properly and the fittings really snugged up; I didn't have any leaks. I must admit I was concerned tightening the fitting after reading other reviews, but I think applying the Teflon tape properly, just one wrap, and using a rag to get the slight extra twist makes the difference.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No pressure Wasn't happy with the pressure put out by this shower head. The restrictor is built into the system. Will return this and go back to our old shower head.
