Cons: I am very disappointed because it is made of PLASTIC. It can easily break/crack, which it did and we had to replace the part that cracked. I would not recommend this product for that reason alone. For the amount of money you spend on this product you would think it would be constructed of quality material, such as metal.
Pros: It was intalled easily. It did not leak because the kit provided all that was needed for installation. I liked that it was adjustable for different height and you had the choice to shower with both heads or with the hand held only or the shower head. This I actually loved. I had no problem with the flow of water.

I remodeled my parents bathroom in January 2014 and installed a disability friendly shower. I purchased this showerhead combo to allow my disabled father to use his shower chair and my mother to use the same shower without putting the handheld out of my fathers reach. Biggest waste of money EVER! It is now only 8 months after installing the shower head and every single joint on the unit is spewing water at such a rapid rate that a 5 minute shower is cold 2 minutes in. Worst of all, the 90 day return period was already up before the unit started to malfunction so I have to buy a new shower head AND I am out the $88 for the first one I purchased.

This is the perfect solution for turning your showerheads that are extra tall into both a showerhead and a usable hand sprayer (but not at the same time) It is the only model I could find where the diverter valve is at the bottom rather than at the the top. We have showerheads that are mounted very high on the wall. Every other option had the diverter up at the showerhead where no one but a giant could reach it. It was very reasonably priced, has lasted for a year in both my bathroom and my two teenagers bathrooms Plumber was going to have to rip my wall apart and add a diverter. This product saved me many hundreds of dollars (thousands?) in remodeling.

If you are going to set it and forget it, or just use it as a showerhead, you will be fine. We have two little tots in the house and need a combo handheld/showerhead in order to bath them. We've used this combo for 2 weeks and it feels like it's about to snap. the whole thing flexes and the handheld sits awkwardly and is prone to falling out of the holster. (not good with a one year old sitting below!) We're going back to Delta or Moen. Also, the suction never worked and the adhesive is coming off (not off the tiles, but off of the unit itself which was applied in factory).
All in all, I tried to save a buck and ended up wasting a lot of gas and time.

I think this product deserves more than a two and a half star rating. For the price it is very good value. If you want an inexpensive shower combo this fits the bill. The key is not to over tighten when installing, be gentle, follow instructions, this product can be and should be hand installed, no wrenches needed. Use the white tape correctly, anti clockwise, the opposite way you are going to screw on the head. It is true the stick on bit will not hold. I used superglue gel to secure it and it has been holding 3+ years now.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Spews water
Contractor installed this product after bath renovation. Within 6 months water began to drip from connections and then next day spewed water every where. Thought Am. Standard was a reliable product not so. Apparently this is a common defect so your choices are to select another brand or keep replacing it every few months. It looks nice, easy to use, but perhaps due to plastic fittings it does not hold the seal. And of course home depot wont take it back.

I bought this a little over a year ago. It worked fine for a year and then a flexible plastic tube inside suddenly burst. When I called American Standard they said it wasn't made by them but by another company called Waxman. Waxman doesn't offer replacement parts and this isn't something you can cobble together. $90 is very expensive for a fixture that only lasts a year. I wouldn't purchase another one and it kills me that I had purchased a 2nd one for my other bathroom and now I'm just waiting for it to fail. This product is chearp and isn't built to last.

This combo was bad from the begining. I installed it per directions and all it did was spray water all over the place from the diverter. The shower head diverter and pivot point about which to move the shower head not only leak but spray water all over. There is absolutey nothing you can do about it. I got replacements from AS but they still did not work AT ALL. I ended up using parts from another device which made this thing last almost 2 years. The switch to change from showerhead to wand to both died without warning. When I tried to fix it guess what caused problems again? The diverter. The unit is out of warranty so I can't return it. It is useless garbage. I won't even discuss the wimpy suction cup/ double stick tape mounting system. CAVEAT EMPTOR
