Answer:
OK so THIS is confusing.. American Standard answers this question with, "yes, this faucet has plastic part." and a community answer is "all metal parts." So perhaps AS AND the community answer could be more specific about which parts are plastic and which are metal??!!

We have very hard water and have needed to remove the aereator occasionally to get rid of the hard water particles. It would be nice to know that it could be cleaned if necesssary.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sleek, functions well, easy install Never had the courage to install a faucet before, but this pre-assembled unit and the good instructions were all I needed to give it a try. I also watched some videos on YouTube to learn how to take out the old faucet-which greatly helped. I had to make a run to the hardware store for some couplings (1/2" to 3/8"), but everything went very quick and no leaks. I like the look and feel of this faucet, and the soap dispenser keeps the sink area uncluttered. It swivels easily between sinks, pulls out and resets in the base with a nice solid feel. Water pressure is great. Makes my sink look better too. BTW- I did not use plumbers putty on the deck plate-guess plumbers don't use it much for this anymore. June 21, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Design The good: installation was easy and looks nice. The bad: the ergonomics of the sprayer. Whoever designed this obviously never tried to pick it up and use it. Because the spray unit is curved, the only way to to grab and pull it is underhand. It is impossible to use this with an overhand grip, as most people would. Huge flaw in my opinion and is going back to Home Depot as a result. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Quality The faucet is very easy to install, looks great, but best of all it's STURDY!!!! May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No complaints Looks great, works fine. Sprayer toggles easily. No complaints! May 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value Very good quality and easy to install. Would recommend to a friend. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well Thought out system, excellent quality The item was of superior quality to what we previously had installed! The Barton faucet was easy to install, the instructions clear, concise and error proof. The thought and consideration that went into the customer experience was definitely evident in the packaging, design and directions. Would definitely recommend the product to others! March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOOKS GREAT, WORKS SMOOTHLY, EASY INSTALL Generally speaking, I could care less about a kitchen faucet as long as it's not leaking and runs water BUT in this case, I'm glad I was coerced into upgrading. What I liked: Aesthetics: The parts that sit above the counter look sharp and makes the sink area look neat. Very easy to shine up too. Operation: The faucet turns on and off very smoothly. Same goes for hot/cold rotation. Spray function is pretty standard (meaning, not underpowered or overpowered). Has a durable feel to it. Installation (for me, most important part): Installation was a breeze. Honestly, the hardest part of installation was taking out the old faucet, which had parts that were not designed for easy de-installation. While putting in the new (Barton) faucet, I couldn't help but notice the designers thought it through the tail end of the faucet's life- which gives me a nice, warm fuzzy feeling about what is on the inside of the faucet. What I didn't like: Nothing so far. Still working great (2 months since installed). Will update review if anything goes wrong. March 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice faucet, 2nd go around so far... I purchased the first of this model back in February. It looks great, installation is easy and straight forward, no leaks right off the bat - and an unexpected bonus was that it swivels from side-to-side for a double basin sink very smoothly! Well, it did....and then it stopped and became stiff and rigid to move from side-to-side. I uninstalled and reinstalled, checked out everything that I could, and couldn't figure out what the problem was. I have a busy schedule and a lot of times I would very much rather shoot off an email rather than talk to someone on the phone. American Standard offers email customer service and troubleshooting is one of the options, and their web site says they'll get back to you in 36 hours or less. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, things happen with emails, they get lost in cyber-space, whatever the case may be. I received no response from American Standard and sent off a 2nd request for contact today. I decided to check with my local Home Depot to see if they would do an exchange for the same model and they did. I brought the new one home, had it installed in no time and now, this product has a second chance with me. The faucet handle comes out about 2 feet from the base it rests in. It makes filling our coffee maker which sits right next to the sink in the morning nice, and doing the dishes is much nicer with the extended pull out handle. We're on well water and the water pressure seems adequate to me. It seems to be a mix of decent quality metal and some plastic. The hoses are braided and seem to be of good quality. All-in-all I gave the faucet 4 stars because I had to install it more than once and the first one developed the problem it did. But, even good products throw out a lemon now and again, so benefit of the doubt on board; 2nd faucet installed and ready to see how it holds up. April 3, 2016
