Customer Questions & Answers

does it include the seat? Can i get this at my local store?

Asked by: Anonymous
It does not include the seat or the standard mounting kit. I bought the plastic seat, which feels, well, plastic. You probably won't be able to get any color other than white at the store. I had to special order this one to get it in bone color.

Customer Reviews

Cadet 3 2-Piece 1.6 GPF Elongated Toilet in White-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 74.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple installation per the manual Bought this to replace a 12-year-old low-end Cadet that had accumulated a 1/4" thick layer of brown, hard "crud" in the trap and that required multiple plunges and flushes to clear even moderate loads. The crud was tough enough that it trapped the tip of a closet auger, thus ending the life of the old toilet. Since that crud did not appear in the tank, we're assuming that the "if it's yellow, let it mellow" technique recommended by Denver Water might have caused the crud to precipitate in our hard water and bond to the trap surface. So we've abandoned that method, and hope that the Cadet 3 EverClean trap glaze will further prevent crud accumulation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great flusher BUT won't last long We purchased three of these toilets from Home Depot, in June 2006 after online research for best 'bulk' flushing toilets. Installed ourselves. Flushes clear most bulk matter easily with hardly ever a blockage. BUT after three years, hinge on flapper mechanism in tank chipped off so water flowed constantly into bowl after flush. New one sent free under warranty as five year warranty.. Second toilet just did same thing in Feb. 2010, so have to replace that flapper also.Tank must be removed from bowl to repair flapper. Have to wonder at the quality of the plastic used if this has happened to 2 out of 3 flappers. Be handy at plumbing if you buy this bowl or one with any 4021 mechanism ( number printed inside tank ). Not sure what we will do when warranty expires and if happens again….Be sure to register your toilet online with manufacturer to ease claim process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this toilet, and I Iove using too! This toilet is a great value and does what it needs to do. Things I love about this toilet: 1. Low water usage 2. Strong flushing power 3. Hold the lever down for additional flushing power 4. No clogs. Can flush 5 large hot dogs or 14 golf balls according to the American Standard product video. 5. Attractive, modern, clean look 6. Everclean porcelain stays clean. 7. Extremely easy to install. It was my first toilet install and I had it done in no time. No leaks, no mess. 8. Plastic seat does not stain. 9. Why pay more? Great value. 10. I have 4 more toilets in the house, but unfortunately they are all working well. I wish I had a good reason to change them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install In store price was 145--comes (nearly) complete. Just make sure you have sealant (silicone or caulk) for the base and the same tools you need to take out the old toilet. Check the supply line to the old toilet before you go--you may need to update this to fit a new toilet if it's really old. Also make sure your old flange is flush with the floor and in good condition. You may need to replace the flange and you may need longer closet bolts if a new floor (esp. tile) raises the floor well above the flange. If so, you'll also need an extra wax ring to make up the space. Other than that, it really is a complete setup--no need to do anything inside the tank. Takes about 20-30 min to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powder Room Replacement Toilet Toilet replacement can be a daunting experience. Excluding the obvious considerations (e.g. color, style, type, seat height, etc.), gravity flush technology and water efficiency have changed significantly over the years. We selected the Cadet 3 elongated toilet for moderate use in close proximity to our rec room and kitchen area. The driving need was the poor flushing characteristics of a similar-sized, 30-year old, round-seated American Standard toilet. Water consumption was not a major concern; flush noise level was. The Cadet 3 elongated toilet was easy to install. We stuck with standard height seating which simplified water supply connection. The unit’s performance to date has exceeded expectations. The light touch flushing technology works well. Its quick powerful 1.6 gpf flush suction design is quiet. The unit was purchased over and delivered in 5 days. The on-line ordering process was simple.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This toilet works great This is a great toilet and was very easy to install. It uses very little water and it flushes great. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that the tank was cracked. I did not notice it until I finished the install and found it was leaking. I did not appear to be shipping damage as it was packed very well. In any case, I called Home Depot and they sent out a replacement tank which took about a week to arrive. In the mean time, rather than reinstalling the old toilet I patched the crack using a hot glue gun which worked until I had the new tank. Other than that it is a great toilet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good bowl This bowl rocks....takes anything I throw at it....when you flush you would think it will clog because of the low water usage, but sure enough no matter how big the load it goes down...and fast

Rated 3 out of 5 by from For the price and quick delivery it's acceptable. The inside upper portion of the bowl is unglazed. Just squat and you'll see the unglazed portion below the rim. I'm very disappointed with this. This is not good because that's where the stains stick the most. The outlet is glazed but not the visible portion of the bowl under the rim. Furthermore, I have to hold the flush lever longer than normal to flush completely. Ordering online items that are not on display in the store has a disadvantage. You can't see manufacturing imperfections.
