Customer Questions & Answers

What else do I need to buy with this toilet? If a wax ring, thick or regular, alone or with the bolts and things? A seat? Anything else? Thanks!

Asked by: Anonymous
You would need to buy the wax ring. I used a regular one but I suppose that depends on your flange depth but the regular should be fine. Most wax rings come with closet bolts. This toilet did not come with a seat so you would need to purchase one as well.

Customer Reviews

Cadet 3 FloWise 2-Piece 1.28 GPF High Efficiency Round Front Toilet in Black-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent toilet I bought this toilet to replace 20 year old toilet that had begun to leak. What attacted me to this particular model is its low water requirements and straightforward design, which fits into the look of my 100-year-old house. The toilet has been perfect: went in easily (installed by a professional plumber), performs perfectly. Best features are the low water use and that the flush is quiet. The surface of the bowl stays clean for a long time; I clean it carefully so as not to damage the surface. This toilet has one flush, so the review of a two-flush type toilet is not for this model. My household water usage has decreased with this toilet. Very sastisfied, would highly recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good value but questionable reliability I bought three of these for my house. Been using them for two years now. The rubber seals inside the water tank of two units are going bad. I've contacted AS and they're sending me the repair kit. Will have to see if it can fix it. PROS: o compact o decent flushing power for number 1 jobs. o reasonable price CONS: o reliability. Just after two years the rubber housing are going bad in two units of mine. And I expect these to last me for a decade o not good enough flushing power for number 2 jobs. o seat cover is ok. Could be thicker or more comfortable o flush handle could be more comfortable to use I'll might pick American Standard again, but will definitely consider other brands first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent product. We purchased this product when we remodeled our small bathroom. The compact size was perfect. We have used it for 3 weeks and the efficiency of the flush and the water savings are impressive. We took advantage of free shipping from Home Depot and the product arrived on-time, although with a tiny inperfection near the base.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good. Looks nice for a toilet. Previous toilets in house clogged frequently. We've only used it a few weeks, but so far everytime it does the job flushing the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good performer and water friendly Pulled the old toilet out because flushes were slowing down in flush power. Researched and purchased this toilet because of comments about strong flush. When the flush valve on this toilet is pressed, it opens up a 3" valve which dumps the water from the holding tank into the bowl very quickly. Bowl contents are gone in no time! Uses much less water than old toilet and tank fills fast. No problems with the install and purchased a kit that had everything in there and I was ready to go. Pleased with this purchase. American Standard is also well known so replacement tank parts can be found readily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value My superintendent installed this toilet in about 2 hours. It was a replacement for my over 30 year old toilet. He did get some additional parts and used a thicker wax ring, so I am not sure about the claim that it can be installed without tools or parts. The toilet works efficiently and quickly and I cannot believe how little water it uses. I am truly amazed. It looks nice too. I wish the toilet came with a toilet seat. I thought it would.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expections ! Was hesitant going with a "low-flow" (1.28 GPF) toilet due to horror stories from friends. I did do a lot of research prior to choosing the Cadet 3 Flowise, and it seemed to be the best choice to balance performance vs. price. After installing them (I did all 3 in my house); i was AMAZED at the performance ! Much better than the older original ones that used 3 times the amount of water. I don't feel like I sacrificed anything in the way of performance for the reasonable price. To make matters even better, I noticed substantial savings on my water bill right away !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We are so happy with this product! This model is the perfect size for our bathroom space. It flushes beautifully and very well. Less water is needed than with other toilets, but it does the job with no problem. Our plumber installed it easily. He had to set the water level high for it to work well. NOTE: There is no wax ring included and it comes without a toilet seat, so make sure you purchase those items separately. It's so much better than our old toilet!!
