Slow-close seat

Does this toilet come with a slow-close seat?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it does. Mine did anyway. Just ask the sales person at the store. It should say on the box. I like the slow seat option.

What does rough in mean?

I would like to know in lay terms the height from floor to seat.
Asked by: Anonymous
Rough in is for new construction or new install and details dimensions to set soil pipe etc. Distance from wall, vanity, tub etc.

I have only 10 1/2 inches from the wall. Will this fit??

Wall built too close to floor bracket.
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. It is made for a 10" rough in, which is what you have.

It has a strong flush and does an excellent job of rinsing the bowl and the end of the flush cycle keeping it clean. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that we managed to clog it 2 times over the past month. So although it has a strong flush it is possible to clog it. I'm not sure if the Champion 4 Max would do any better. It is much better than the 1.6 gal toilet it replaced.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Toilet after adjustment Got the Cadet 3 since I have a 10" rough in and this was the only toilet in stock at HD with a 10" rough in. Installation was easy. The only problem I had was the flapper would not always seal and water would run until I flushed once or twice. The flapper model is a Fluidmaster 540 and there is no support documents on it anywhere online. Upon inspection there are numbers 0 to 10 on this flapper. Mine was set to 8. I moved it to 10 and that I guess prevented water or air from seeping into the flapper assembly. Now it seals every flush.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy install, works great Replaced an old unit, this one was easy to install with the niffty plastic 'wrench' included. Had to buy a new wax ring, one in the box was smashed in shipment. Best thing is the way this toilet works: one word...amazing! Not to be graphic but let's say I have 'challenged' the capacity and it didn't even hesitate. Old unit would have been a 2 flusher, this one does it in less than a sec with less than half the water.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Started out great Pro: Great flush power, never had a clog. Never needs multiple flushes Cons: 1/2" flaw in porelain at bottom of the bowl causes it to look like there's always a dirty spot or something on the bottom of the bowl. After several months, toilet started running, very breifly several times a day. Replaced flapper with a "generic" brand with no improvement. Replaced flapper with brand name flapper specified by AS (which had to be special ordered as HD does not stock it and cost almost $30) with still no improvement. Any water savings by reduced flush reservoir is being negated by constant short refills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great toilet with a few exceptions Overall, a great toilet for a 10-inch rough-in. Too bad one has to pay double the price. A few things I gleaned from reading the reviews and installing the toilet: 1) Attach the water line to the tank BEFORE attaching the tank to the bowl. The inlet for the water line is so close to the bowl once the tank is installed, you'll have a bear of a time putting it on afterwards. 2) The instructions refer to two attachment handles for tightening nuts. I only received one and assume that's the way the toilet comes. Just alternate usage and DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THE BOLTS attaching the tank to the bowl. 3) When adjusting the water level, also adjust the flapper. Otherwise, you'll constantly be holding down on the flush lever to obtain a full flush. Here's a good YouTube video showing how the Model 540 flapper is adjusted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5dRpOQd6UE. 4) You'll probably want to replace the seat. It's cheap plastic and the slow-close feature creates problems. Such as, if you keep the seat down, you'll need to hold it for a second when you raise it or it'll automatically close on you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from As long as it works, seems reasonable Only had them for a few weeks (bought 2). I believe this was one of the few 10 inch rough-in options at HD. I prefer round seat but it was available in elongated. Seems to work fine - decent flush, no unwanted sights/smells. My plumber installed it for me. Initially one of the two toilets would not stop draining- the "flapper" (plumber told me that was the actual name) was not sealing properly, so you could hear it continuing to drain/run. He says "I told you not to buy cheap toilets". I stuck my hands in the tank and played around with the pieces (hoping that the cheap plastic pieces would still be functional), found a sudden clicking sound, flapper popped into a proper seal and the problem was fixed. Draining stopped, toilet now flushes, fills and stops appropriately. Guess something had jostled loose in delivery. Pro: the product seems functional and it was a lower priced option. Con: seat feels cheap (probably replace in future); not sure why it was so much more expensive than the same model with 12 inch rough-in and round bowl.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only toilet of its type in stock - but worked great I live in a 1950's condo and it needed a toilet with 10" rough. There was only one Home Depot in all of Miami metro that had one in stock. This one. Unfortunately, after it was installed, it leaked. The plumber told me it was defective. It took me about a month to order a replacement online and take the defective toilet back for a refund. But the replacement works fine. It works very well and takes little space. I am happy with it, but also it was the only choice I had as an in stock item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy!! This is a one box installation- truly the easiest toilet I ever installed. No tools extra tools needed. Everything in the box! Water Saver qualified for $100 local water company rebate- cost me $78 out the door. Cant beat it!
