Answer:
Could be an O-ring seal needs replaced or the entire valve core will need replaced. In addition, if the core valve has a jam nut on it it may have worked loose and needs to be tightend. This could allow for seepage of H20. Not too familiar with this certain product. Hope this helps.

Rated 2.5 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not for THICK walls...but looks great... The look of the handles on this fixture was my main reason for purchasing. I wanted simplicity, and a modern streamlined appearance. I prefer handles to knobs....in that I wasn't disappointed. My problem may only be due to the fact that my bathroom wall/tile is extremely thick. I had to have my "handyman" come back three times due to the each handle coming off in my hand after a shower. So if u have an older home with thick walls..this fixture may not work for you, there is nothing wrong with the product itself, the screws apparently are not made long enough to accomodate thick walls. I may end up replacing it, but for now all is well. April 2, 2007
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Home Depot should not be recommending this American Standard faucet. This 3 handle bathtub faucet system is terrible. It leaks, the handles are plastic and the chrome parts that screw onto the shower wall are also plastic. Internal pieces are plastic. This is not a good idea at all. If I were a Home Depot Rep I would not allow this to be a part of the possible choices available even though the price was under $100.00. It is going to cost me a lot more than that in time and money to have it removed and replaced with a system that has dependable parts to it. This system was purchased new and is already broken and leaking at the tub faucet after professional installation. August 20, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Piece of Junk! Unless you are looking for a world of hurt and heartache, I'd avoid this extra-special piece of junk. It took the purchase of two kits (and the return of one) to get all the parts needed and both kits were missing necessary pieces. Not to mention that once the stem was installed it leaked terribly and required considerable additional soldering from our plumber. Today is day 3 using the new faucet and the cold knob broke, turned and is now stuck opposite of where it started, in the way of the shower knob. In the process of fixing it, a plastic piece broke off inside the knob. Everything about this is absolutely cheap. American Standard should be ashamed and has absolutely no business charging people $92 for this. November 23, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Design This set may work well for new construction but not in older houses. Not only are the connections too short to go through most older walls but the valves are not designed to handle any paticulate matter in the water. Many older houses have very old pipes that have run hard water though them for years. If one piece of a mineral deposit breaks off and tries to go through the valve, it will block the water flow and you will have to disassemble the entire setup to remove the blockage. For the same price, there are other valves that can handle this. November 28, 2007
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Plastic, plastic, plastic Professionally installed. Was satisfied until my daughter tried turning off the shower and turned the handle the wrong way - took the handle right off. Went to put back on and the plastic adapter is broken. Would not think an 8 year old should be strong enough to break a "quality" product. I would return but getting everything taken apart would be next to impossible. Contacted American Standard and they are sending me 6 new adapters. I just worry about them being plastic and having continuing problems... April 21, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by do not buy unless you want a headache purchased item and the appearance is good, however it was horrible to install. one of the compression fittings broke and home depot does not carry these seperatly. i either had to buy whole other set or order from a custom shop which would have took 3 weeks to come in. once it was installed the faucet extentions were too short for an older home, so that had to be adjusted. the tile went in and they were still too short. dont waste your time with this product spend some extra money and save the headache September 27, 2008
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I was not happy with this product. I purchased this product, and within six months the plastic piece inside the handle broke off. I was careful when turning the handle, but the plastic piece is very sensitive and is very easily to break off. I ordered the part had it put on, then the shower handle plastic piece inside broke off. The installation was professionally done.I wish I would have checked the reviews first. September 3, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by almost perfect this is my 1st shower head installations. it took me 1 hour to install and i can almost say it's easy. the insructions are easy to follow and i like its appearance , however, it makes noises while the shower head knob is turning but it stopped at the end the knob. i'm not sure if it's my water or because of the design of the product.
