Unless you are looking for a world of hurt and heartache, I'd avoid this extra-special piece of junk.
It took the purchase of two kits (and the return of one) to get all the parts needed and both kits were missing necessary pieces. Not to mention that once the stem was installed it leaked terribly and required considerable additional soldering from our plumber.
Today is day 3 using the new faucet and the cold knob broke, turned and is now stuck opposite of where it started, in the way of the shower knob. In the process of fixing it, a plastic piece broke off inside the knob.
Everything about this is absolutely cheap. American Standard should be ashamed and has absolutely no business charging people $92 for this.

Professionally installed. Was satisfied until my daughter tried turning off the shower and turned the handle the wrong way - took the handle right off. Went to put back on and the plastic adapter is broken. Would not think an 8 year old should be strong enough to break a "quality" product. I would return but getting everything taken apart would be next to impossible. Contacted American Standard and they are sending me 6 new adapters. I just worry about them being plastic and having continuing problems...

This set may work well for new construction but not in older houses. Not only are the connections too short to go through most older walls but the valves are not designed to handle any paticulate matter in the water. Many older houses have very old pipes that have run hard water though them for years. If one piece of a mineral deposit breaks off and tries to go through the valve, it will block the water flow and you will have to disassemble the entire setup to remove the blockage. For the same price, there are other valves that can handle this.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TrashStopper Absolute garbage, do not waste the time of installation.
The all plastic handles and inside parts. They are brittle and all handles are loose, if it were to be tightend it would break. Also handles do not have a turn off spot. You have to turn very gentle to find the turn off point, when the turn off should stop, not continue to turn.It was a professional install, and looks like a five year olds broken toy...

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jodis1966 Home Depot should not be recommending this American Standard faucet.
This 3 handle bathtub faucet system is terrible. It leaks, the handles are plastic and the chrome parts that screw onto the shower wall are also plastic. Internal pieces are plastic. This is not a good idea at all. If I were a Home Depot Rep I would not allow this to be a part of the possible choices available even though the price was under $100.00. It is going to cost me a lot more than that in time and money to have it removed and replaced with a system that has dependable parts to it. This system was purchased new and is already broken and leaking at the tub faucet after professional installation.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Michigansteve Looks nice, easy to install, but poor durability
We redid our bathroom about three years ago. We used the American Standard Cadet set for both the shower/tub and sink. Both products have failed within this amount of time.
The product does look nice and is easy to install. I can also say the finish and appearance hold up well.
The internal parts are a different story. Like many things nowadays, there is a lot of plastic. I went to take a shower one morning and couldn't switch the water from the tub to shower. I took the transfer valve apart, and sure enough the plastic piece was broke.
I searched for a replacement and no one sells the part. This is our only shower in the house so I couldn't wait for a replacement to arrive by mail. I bought a second set simply for one $15 part since it was an emergency situation.
I'm going to order just the part from American Standard, put it back in the brand new set, and return it.
My recommendation would be to save your receipt if you buy this since American Standard offers a lifetime warranty. As I mentioned, I had a similar failure after a short amount of time with their sink faucet from the same product family. I would recommend looking at another product as the short lifespan of this set is not acceptable.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dawnhawk Plastic handles.
This would have been very hard to install. No unions for supply pipes, just threads. I would have to reduce the thickness of my wall to about 1 3/8" to get it to fit. I didn't feel it was worth it for a faucet with fake metal handles. The plastic handles mount on plastic extenders which seems a little shaky. Can't speak to durability or performance as I sent it back.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by missy I was not happy with this product.
I purchased this product, and within six months the plastic piece inside the handle broke off. I was careful when turning the handle, but the plastic piece is very sensitive and is very easily to break off. I ordered the part had it put on, then the shower handle plastic piece inside broke off. The installation was professionally done.I wish I would have checked the reviews first.
