I liked the discounted price. I thought that I was getting a good price on a slightly higher quality toilet. Frankly, I don't see much difference from the low-end model that the builder installed. The bowl vacates quickly and fairly quietly which is nice. Easy to install, instructions are clear. I was led to believe that a wax ring was not included. In fact, both the toilets I ordered came with a wax ring. One of the toilets had a blue residue which when wet, stains anything it comes into contact with. American Standard needs to improve their packing methods. Both toilet tanks arrived damaged. The tank itself was intact, but the flush mechanism was broken in transit on both toilets.

The toilet works as advertised so far. Like the lower height.
The problems I had was terrible service from Home Depot and their Installation Contracter.
No more Home Depot for me ever again!

Installed easily, worked exactly as promised...... Wanted a slightly larger water volume than the 1.28 gallon standard, but still water conscious. This fit the bill perfectly. Wanted a standard brand so that parts would be easy to get.......

I bought two of these to replace both of the old American Standard toilets in the house. The old ones used a lot of water and took forever to flush, the bowl would fill with water and then very slowly the water would start to spiral and finally flush. The new American Standard Cadet 3 toilets flush quickly and use a lot less water.
The picture shows the toilet when I first installed it, it did not come with a toilet seat.
Also the old toilet tanks were 21" wide, the new ones are about 17.5" wide. Likely because the tank holds less water. I like the narrow tank, it looks better.
The only complaint is that one of the two that I bought, one of them didn't have the bag of parts with the mounting screws/nuts and the plastic cap covers. I have tried to get a replacement from American Standard customer service but no luck so far. I bought a generic set so I could install the second toilet, but the ones that come with it from American Standard have a nice triangle shaped plastic nut that you can screw on with just your hand, and a nice larger than usual plastic cap that is good quality. I want that one instead of the cheap $3 part that I had to buy to finish the install.

Product was ordered without problems, picked up from store without problems, installed without problems (I have not installed other toilets before), and the product functions as intended.

The toilet looks good, and takes care of business. It was easy to install, too. The only down-side was that it didn't come with a toilet seat - not even a temporary cheap plastic seat. No one even bothered to mention that to us!! Bad form.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jack Nice toilet but was missing some parts.
It came shipped in two separate boxes that arrived on different days.
Installation should have been a breeze but the toilet was missing the floor flange mounting bolts. This wouldn't normally be a problem if the existing ones are in good shape and are cut to the right height. Mine were but the other problem was that the existing ones had a different diameter than the ones that are supposed to come with the new toilet so the plastic nuts that they provided would not work and since the caps snap on to the provided nuts, I could not use the caps. My existing caps were a different color. HD was able to issue a credit so I can go out and purchase some new caps in the right color.

I replaced a 29 year old American Standard Plebe toilet that was originally installed when the house was built. That was a poorly designed toilet. I heard that this design worked good with the larger tank that was used back then (3.5 Gal) Then the smaller tanks were put to use on the same toilet, for the purpose of water conservation... Needless to say, without redesigning the bowl, they didn't flush well.
I couldn't be more pleased with this toilet. It works very well!! Was easy to install, Even came with a new wax seal ring. When I saw Home Depot's Special buy price of $117.00, I couldn't pass it up.
