Does this come in Rough in 10 Inch ???

Asked by: Armysgti
Check out Model # 270DB001.020 -- everything pretty much looks the same except the rough-in. Model #'s 270DA101.020 and 270DB101.020 also seem to be very similar, except those are 1.28 GPF (one is 12in rough in, the other is 10in)

I have an almond colored Kohler toilet from about 20 years ago. I need to match the almond tub and sink. Is the almond color closer to linen, bone or biscuit?
Asked by: Bob
I have the same problem. took a paint sample that was close to toilet I have now. I think this bone color is close to the old almond color. Or take your present toilet tank top to home depot to see if it matches.

in the toilet specs, what does the 'rough in size' mean? I need to replace a toilet that the posts are only 9 inches from the wall.

Asked by: newatremodeling
I am no expert, but rough in size refers to the distance of the flange bolts to the wall. It identifies the center of your discharge line, so the exit on your toilet lines up with the floor flange. Make sure to take account of any trim or molding you may have when you are measuring. Most toilets are available in 10", 12", or 14" rough in sizes. If your bolts are currently at 9", I would check with a professional, but would assume you would use a 10" rough in.

We purchased this toilet to replace a 1950's brown American Standard 3.5 GPF toilet. Yeah, that was a thing. By comparison, this toilet fills quickly instead of taking all week and chokes everything down with an energetic, effective flush! We've had this toilet about 4 weeks and we're saving money while using WAY LESS water. Great product. Great value. Thank you American Standard. (Note: It didn't come with a toilet seat and cover. We used a white slow-closing Bemis. I totally recommend a slow close toilet seat cover with any toilet . A closed seat gives the bathroom a really clean look and slow close is quiet.)

Pictorial instructions are simple but straightforward. It comes with toilet bolts and a funnel wax ring. Assembly was easy. Don't over tighten anything, you can always tighten it more if need be. Conventional fill valve and flapper, no fancy power flush. Some toilets come with lids; this one does not. Toilet flushes quietly.

If we are all consigned to low-flow, water-conserving toilets (and apparently we are), at least we don't have to suffer too much. This one replaced a 19-year old builder's grade toilet that was also a water-conserving model but perhaps not as well-designed because it clogged a lot. There were numerous household dramas over the years stemming from clogs. In three weeks of regular use, we haven't had a single clog with the new toilet. Although more effective, it has a less pleasant flush. The flush is more "drop straight down" than "swirl around and then go down." I miss the old swirling action--it was less "out house-y." Another drawback to the new modern flush is that anything that doesn't go right down in the center may be left behind because there are only miniscule trickles of water down the sides of the bowl at the end of a flush--rather than rushing swirls to make sure everything gets taken away. Water conservation may be a wonderful thing but let's be honest and admit what a pain it is, too.

As easy as any to install. special order size, Home depot packaging could survive a force 5 hurricane. After a couple weeks with house full for family reunion, no issues. Seems like it would flush a bucket of golf balls, have not tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never been so happy about a toilet! The entire toilet was easy to install, but that's not the most important thing - the toilet itself.. is... awesome! It flushes so nicely and hasn't clogged yet ...and let's just say I'm a big guy who likes his cheese and red meat ;)
