You have to hold the flush handle down until the tank empties??

The ceramics of this toilet are very well made and I was very happy when I read that this Toilet was actually made in Mexico. The installation is super easy and everything is already installed In the tank. This is a well made product that is very easy to install and has a super flush for only using 1.6 gallons of water. The only problem that I have is that the flushing handle must be held down to keep the Flapper Valve open so the water completely exits the holding tank. This should not be with a new toilet. I already tried to adjust the chain on the Flapper Valve, but that did not work.

Answer:
The tank will no longer empty like the older toilets did. You may still have a third of the tank water in the tank. As soon as the contents go down you can release.

I just had this toilet installed 5 days ago. It has been working well until today. It occasionally will start
running for a split second. Could this be a broken flush valve?

Answer:
After looking at the spec sheet there is not a specific measurement for that but it looks as though it is about 9". It is 8.5" to where the supply line hook up and probably a 1/2" beyond that point.

Cadet 3 Powerwash 2-piece 1.6 GPF Round Toilet in Bone is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Toilet Disappoints! The toilet flushes well and comes with everything that you need to install except a seat. I am not happy that the tank is so far from the wall even though it is the correct rough in size. Also there is a white compound used in what must be a casting hole in the very bottom of the toilet. I had to clean out excess compound that discolored at the bottom of the toilet after installation. The remaining compound in the casting hole continues to discolor, Thus I am disappointed at the quality and appearance of the product and am considering seeking a refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well So far so good. Quick powerful flush. Chose because of old toilet failing and this one was small enough for the limited space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flushes very well. Replaced old toilet because it took two or more flushes to make material go do... Flushes very well. Replaced old toilet because it took two or more flushes to make material go down. It don't know if the bowl is porous, but iron in our water stained it the first day . It is difficult to clean even with Sno-Bowl or similar. Our 50 year old toilet did not stain so quickly and was easier to clean. We have a water treatment system in place so the iron in our water is minimal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cadet 3, 1.6 gpf is best toilet anywhere. Came packed so well that I swear you could drop the boxes from 6 feet without breakage. Included the wax ring and the bolts. Tank mounted on the bowl like a dream. Consumers reports touts the 1.28gpf champion4 but user reviews reveal long term problems with that model. Easiest install ever for this 65yr old retiree. Brown goes down now, baby. 1.28gpf is for fools. Getthe round bowl and enjoy lots of extra room in the bathroom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice! I received and installed this American Std 10" rough-in toilet several weeks ago and am very happy with the design and performance. It is a smaller toilet which I wanted, but it has a powerful flush and was so easy to install. If you need a smaller toilet with a powerful wash, this is for you. You won't be sorry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10" rough-in toilet is good for older homes with less than 12" rough-in This toilet has a 1.6 gallon flush. It is easy to install. It is the standard height, not the taller floor to seat size. The wax ring is included as well as the bolts for the tank. The tank has a flapper flush system. In researching online I found that toilets come in various sizes that depend on your rough-in. You could install a 10" rough-in toilet when replacing a 12" toilet but you would have more than the typical 1-1/2" gap between the wall and the tank. The way to measure for the size that you need is to measure from the wall (not the moulding) to the floor bolts. If yours is 12" then you need a 12" toilet so that you have about an inch between the wall and the tank once it is installed. If yours measures less than 12" then you will most likely need the 10" toilet for it to fit nicely. This manufacturer makes sizes to fit 10", 12", and 14" rough-ins. The instructions are good and there is help online. I found out online that older homes used the 10" size so be sure to measure before you bring it home. This is a nice smaller size toilet of good quality.
