You have to hold the flush handle down until the tank empties??

The ceramics of this toilet are very well made and I was very happy when I read that this Toilet was actually made in Mexico. The installation is super easy and everything is already installed In the tank. This is a well made product that is very easy to install and has a super flush for only using 1.6 gallons of water. The only problem that I have is that the flushing handle must be held down to keep the Flapper Valve open so the water completely exits the holding tank. This should not be with a new toilet. I already tried to adjust the chain on the Flapper Valve, but that did not work.

Answer:
The tank will no longer empty like the older toilets did. You may still have a third of the tank water in the tank. As soon as the contents go down you can release.

I just had this toilet installed 5 days ago. It has been working well until today. It occasionally will start
running for a split second. Could this be a broken flush valve?

Answer:
After looking at the spec sheet there is not a specific measurement for that but it looks as though it is about 9". It is 8.5" to where the supply line hook up and probably a 1/2" beyond that point.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 53 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the way the toilet works Once we got through the issue of the first 2 being broken in shipment, on the 3rd try we received the toilet in good condition. LOVE the way the toilet flushes. Haven't had to 'double flush' any more. It took awhile for the bolts that attach the top to the bottom to stop leaking as we didn't want to over tighten and crack the tank. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Toilet Easy to install instruction. Flushes great. Was delivered on time. April 6, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Toilet Disappoints! The toilet flushes well and comes with everything that you need to install except a seat. I am not happy that the tank is so far from the wall even though it is the correct rough in size. Also there is a white compound used in what must be a casting hole in the very bottom of the toilet. I had to clean out excess compound that discolored at the bottom of the toilet after installation. The remaining compound in the casting hole continues to discolor, Thus I am disappointed at the quality and appearance of the product and am considering seeking a refund. July 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well So far so good. Quick powerful flush. Chose because of old toilet failing and this one was small enough for the limited space. August 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product I have been using this toilet for a couple of weeks in my master bathroom. I was concerned that the flush would not be strong enough especially adapting from a 3.5 gallon toilet but I am pleasantly surprised. So far, it is working well, is quiet, and gives a clean flush. The only drawback is that it is a small toilet, so if you are average to above average in size and height you may want to get the comfort height and elongated seat. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good choice! I received and installed this American Std 10" rough-in toilet several weeks ago and am very happy with the design and performance. It is a smaller toilet which I wanted, but it has a powerful flush and was so easy to install. If you need a smaller toilet with a powerful wash, this is for you. You won't be sorry! April 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Huge improvement We installed this during a bathroom remodel to replace an ~25 year old high-flow toilet that required 2-3 flushes a majority of the time. It has been an enormous improvement. After over two months I think it has required two flushes once. It's also much quieter than the older toilet. We got it at a good price and it was easy to install even though I'd never done a toilet before. It included new flange bolts, the wax seal, and even tools to tighten the tank onto the bowl. Very happy with this purchase. April 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superior Toilet This replaced a cheap, low-end toilet that the previous owners of our house installed years ago. It would plug up frequently under normal use. Our plumber recommended a better toilet, and included the American Standard Cadet 3 on his list of good toilets. It has not disappointed so far...no one in my family has had a clogged toilet yet. It is clearly better made and well-designed. March 1, 2016
