What is the throat diameter of this toilet? I.e is it subject to repeated clogging?

Asked by: Nick
In 4 months, it hasn't clogged, but it does not wash the walls off at all, hardly any water comes from the top, it mostly comes from the lower hole. Hope you like to constantly have to clean the toilet. I wouldn't buy another one!

Does this toilet require new feed line as it sounds like it's a bit higher than a standard one ?
Asked by: Rich
Yes you'd have to buy a longer water hose. I'm not pleased with this toilet and wouldn't buy another one! It doesn't clean anything off the inside walls of the toilet! You have to clean it by hand constantly......

This toilet at 188 dollars, is double the price I've paid for any of the toilets I've had in my previous 6 houses. I thought I was getting a toilet that would save water, and flush the toilet and clean the walls better than any I'd had before. I was wrong. It will flush whats in the toilet, but it does not have enough water coming down the walls, to clean or wash away anything! If you want a clean toilet, you will have to clean it almost after every flush! It does not clean or wash the walls with enough water to wash away anytlhing! With other toilets, more water drains from the walls in a circular motion and cleans the walls to the point you don't have to clean the toilet too often. Almost all the water comes out at the bottom hole on this toilet and hardly nothing from the sides! It is a duel flush, and I thouht I would save water, but that is not the case. I only use the heavey flush despite just having liquid in it, hoping it will wash what was left on the walls last time. When I have solids, I flush a second time because the walls don't get rinsed off. Doesn't matter, 10 times wouldn't wash the walls, get the brush out! I bought it at Home Depot in Grand jct. CO. about 4 months ago and am thinking about taking it back, because it is so irritating. I've resorted to using the old toilet in my other bathroom, so I don't have to clean the one in the master bath all the time! More expensive and more technical with the fancy duel flush, is NOT better! As you can see, I've been upset for 4 months and I hope this will keep people from wasting their money on this toilet. I tried to email American Standard, and the site I was on would only accept questions and remarks from Canada! I'll try their phone number tomorrow. This toilet will most likely be donated to Habitat for Humanity, when all is said and done. I hope this helps someone....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too much hassle to take it back to the store After a few weeks it has started adding water in between uses, like it has a slow leak. The 1 gpm flush has become inconsistent in its flushing action. I sometimes have to press it twice. I would have used one dot and two dots for the two flush buttons, instead of three and nine dots. My daughter agrees that 1 and 2 make way more sense. The seat curves up at the edge, making it a little uncomfortable for me in the seated position. The edges of the seat dig into my legs. This probably wouldn't affect taller folks. This is not the toilet for spending an extended amount of time on your iPad getting some quiet time away from the kids.

I just installed one of these toilets after having one that worked flawlessly in my previous house for 5 years. However, the one I just installed malfunctioned immediately. It won't do a partial flush without holding the button down the whole time, which is not how it's supposed to work. This toilet costs twice that of similar off-brand toilets. Seems like a waste of money.

Pros: The toilet looks nice, low profile, and was fairly easy to install for a novice, and I've had no issues with leaks or tank for 3 years (outside of the major annoyance listed below). Cons: This thing clears waste reasonably well, but does a *terrible* job at removing even a small amount of toilet paper if it is touching any side/wall of the toilet. So, unless the toilet paper is entirely in the water, you will have to flush multiple times or move it into the water manually. This seems to be due to the way the water circulates (or doesn't) in the bowl. This is frustrating and a silly problem for a nearly $200 toilet to have, especially one that's otherwise well made. Also, the seat it comes with is cheap, but that's the case with most toilets.

I like the quiet closing toilet seat that it came with. The only "con" that I can say about it is it could wash the back of the bowl a little better. Other than that it is a great product.
