Customer Questions & Answers

I want to buy an American Standard MD 8115 SF Faucet with a satin nickel finish online from Home Depot.

I find it online at HD and it is listed as "Out of Stock Online" and it says it's an "ONLINE EXCLUSIVE". It also says "+ ADD TO MY LIST"? What does this mean? Where and when can I buy this faucet with this finish? Please advise.

You will not be able to purchase this particular faucet in the satin finish until it comes back into stock.

how do u fix a leaker???

Asked by: Anonymous
If it's leaking underneath the sink at the threads and you used the foam ring to seal where the drain rests at the bottom of the sink, then that may be the problem. Disassemble, toss the foam ring and use plumber's putty. I was advised to roll the plumber's putty (kinda like play-dough) into a long cylindrical shape and wrap it under the chrome where bogus little foam seal was. That did the trick for me. I hope it works for you. Good luck!

Customer Reviews

Cadet 4 in. 1-Handle Low-Arc Bathroom Faucet in Satin Nickel-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great faucet. This is a great faucet, the innovative cable drive for sink drain stopper is fantastic. The easy install was not so easy however. Three things, the foam gasket for the drain did not seal out water on my sink. Had to remove and reinstall using plumbers putty. No gasket provided for under faucet to sink. Used plumbers putty to keep out water and mold. The P-Trap stops to soon on the tail pipe probably because of the cable drive cam, hard to connect to main drain line. The handle is smooth moving and the faucet appears to be built well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice but Not Durable I have gone through two of these faucets on the same sink. Although they initially look and function great they have only lasted about three years. The chrome finish breakes down after a couple of years and the second ones handle broke after two and a half years with no abuse involved. Very disapointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, but get some plumber's putty I bought this faucet and felt a little uneasy about the new design for the pop-up drain, but that soon changed. Easy to install and the cable for the pop-up drain works like a charm. The box reads "Seals completely-no plumber's putty required." This is BOGUS. Toss the stupid little foam ring, get some plumber's putty and save yourself the hassle. Other than that, great product - Reasonable price. Good luck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product and price I was pleasantly surprised to find that this faucet has the easy install drain system. I had previously used this type on a much more expensive faucet set and I was not expecting to find it at this price range. It makes the installation much easier and works very well. The faucet set looks good and works smoothly. It was easy to install and I expect that it will last well. I especially like the fact that I won't have to cope with replacing rubber washers as this unit has a ceramic element.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaking after 9 months. I bought this faucet for $69 - by no means a cheap faucet. After 9 months, it started leaking. The leaks were internal to the faucet, not at the connections. American Standard says they will replace the defective parts, but there's no compensation for the labor spent or the hassle of having a leaking faucet. I will never buy this brand again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from unique design does not work in my house i thought this faucet would be perfect because of the croweded conditions undet the bath sink. the flexible cable used to open amd close the drain is unique. however the mechanism used to open andclose the drain protrudes at an angle and hits the back splash making it unusable.this product needs to go badk to the drawing board. don't they ever install these before they market them?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Faucett THis model is the best. Only available at Home Depot. I have purchased 4 of these for a vacation home and permanent residence. The water connections and pop-up mechanism are easy to install and work great. Good value also. Best price compared to other manufacturers. I did have a problem with one that started dripping at the pop-up connection but a call to American Standard Consumer Service Dept resulted in a prompt shipment of replacement parts at no charge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Have had this for awhile and going to buy two more today. Hi, I installed one in the master bathroom and the install was simple because the drain control uses a cable rather than the traditional post and hole system. The unit looks great and operates smoothly. It says on the box no putty is required but the enclosed foam seal for installation between the faucet base and sink did not work for me. I threw it away and used putty. I'd give it 5 stars if the foam seal had actually worked.
