The flow from the jets is plentiful and adjustable. The pump may be small but it is not underpowered for its job. The pump is also fairly quiet. Very satisfied with this whirlpool tub!

Review for 5'x42" tub Cadet Everclean: Overall the product is good but there are a few things that could be improved. 1 of my jets doesn't work as well as the others, we weren't holding the renovation up for that reason, just a slight quality issue. The heater should be standard and not an add-on. The power connections are on the short side (just FYI). My installer didn't want to use the American Standard tile rubber thing (optional/required). This tub is available with and without the Everclean feature... just be aware that that Everclean is a feature and Cadet is the product line level. 1st the lip is not very wide and makes installing water connections difficult on the short sides. I would only recommend installing them along the long sides. 2nd the smaller tub 5'x36" has the soaking feature which allows for a higher water level. It would appear that this model either is trying to save water (a good thing) or it hadn't been updated yet. 3rd Home Depot doesn't really support this model. HD has this item as special order. I could only find the white American Standard drain kit in store so I used non-American Standard drain kit. 4th American standard has gone thru a renaming process so the same item will have two different SKU's (called American Standard and confirmed) for example the heater attachment is the same part but has 2 different prices at HD. All I can say is do your research and don't over pay.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Woe to You American Standard - Underpowered Pump makes for Flaccid Jet Output Rather than this being an individual quality issue with the tub I received I believe there are design issues with this model. To begin, there is no way this tub has a 1.6 HP pump. When my contractor pulled it out of the box he took one look at the pump and told me to return the tub. I should have listened when there was still float in the schedule. Time went by as our project progressed and I didn’t believe him until we were far enough along to test the tub out. As an engineer (civil not mechanical but bare with me) I trust the manufactures specifications. We bought a jetted tub from a local custom cultured marble tub shop in Kansas City for our last home with a 1.0 HP pump. The pressure coming out of the 6 jets in our old tub was significantly more powerful than that oozing out of the 8 American Standard jets with the supposed 1.6 HP pump. During the planning stage months in advance of construction for our home in Denver, I was between going with this American Standard tub and going with another custom cultured marble tub from a local company. The tub from the local company was $300 more for a tub with a 1.0 HP pump with 6 jets. This one was cheaper and had 8 jets with an allegedly more powerful pump so I fed the big box machine. Now after finding out how substandard the American Standard tub is I had to go crawling back to the local company. Now our project is on hold with our house partially torn up for an additional 3 weeks while a real jetted tub is being fabricated and while the now busy local company frees up for an install date. Even better is that our house will probably still be under construction when people are in town for a family reunion, Yay! When the jetted tub expert from the local company came out to look at the American Standard tub for himself he noted the weak jet output. Additionally, the right back jet decided basically to stop working entirely during this 4th and final test run. He also noticed that the lines feeding the jets were only 1/2” and he always uses 1”. After this last test run I spent 2 hours at home depot returning the tub. I only had the tub for 30 out of the 90 days on the return policy but after some complications with the return I did finally get my money back. I then called customer service and got a $25 gift card for my troubles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tub Install Test before bringing into the house. This is easily done. I am not sure why some plumbers would wait until the unit is at the install location. My unit tested fine. I tested after installation and that was also fine. I dry-fitted the universal drain before the plumbers arrival. Be sure to adjust the stopper arm so the arm doesn't go against the drain tube wall. Again, the plumber can do this dry fit before installation. The line up to house drain needs to be done well as the universal drain is somewhat fixed in place. I will adjust my comments after sealing the tub and tiling the bathroom.
