We moved into a new house about 5 months ago and had 5 of these faucets installed in bathrooms. My fiance and I are the only two who live in the house (no children) and only use 2 of the sinks on a daily basis.
All 5 of the faucets are broken. Some of the handles pop off, some handles spin all the way around, and on one sink, the drain stopper does not work. The handles also feel like plastic.
The drain portion of the faucet unit is corroded in the two two sinks we use daily.
I would not recommend purchasing these faucets! We are currently shopping for replacement bathroom hardware and will steer clear of American Standard!

I bought this thinking it was a lower cost solution and believing in the American Standard Name for a guest bathroom that sees little use. The cold handle wouldn't sit properly and just wiggled as soon as installed (which was done by a professional). We tried moving it to other side and using teflon tape and nothing would make it sit correctly and not 'wiggle'. I am returning this junk and getting another Moen like the one in the master bathroom but I still have to wait for the installer to return and remove it.
On the plus side- Home depot said they'd accept it and give me my money back as long as I had the box and receipt.

I purchase three of these and did have the loose handle problem (described above) with the first one. The handles on these use an adapter to mount them to the valve stem. It is essential that as described in step nine of the instructions that the adpter screw be tightened SECURELY. The screw is tapered and if just snugged down the adapter will be loose on the stem.
They are a also a great looking faucet to use in upating a bathroom. Good value for the money. Real easy to install.
I had to use plumber's putty under the drain flange rather than the gasket that come with the drain. The taper on my sink drain opening was to great to compress the gasket. I found that out on the first one I installed.
Have an associate open the box for you at the store, some of these have plastic rather than metal handles!

The faucet looks nice and unlike the other reviews the handles are not plastic. However, after 4 years the faucet just drips, drips, drips. I'd expect a WHOLE LOT MORE out of a faucet. It doesn't appear that there are replacement parts for it either. I don't recommend any American Standard products - not toilets (they are also terrible products) - not any of their products especially when you can only buy them at the Home Depot.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SemiProDIYer Nice faucet, very poor handle design
Nice faucet, clean lines, easy to install, not made in China (as of 2 yrs. ago) . . . but the handle attachment is terrible. The plastic insert inside the handle lasts about a yaer, and then starts to crumble. This faucet has a lifetime guarantee, so you can just call American Standard for free replacement parts.
