Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JBH131 Purchase Something Other Than Am. Standard
I purchased an American Standard kitchen faucet in 2003 at Home Depot. In 2007 I had to replace the cartidge and again in 2011. These cartidges only last about 4 years and they are no longer available at a local store. When they start to leak - they just don't drip a little bit, but the water comes pouring out. A major design flaw. I will not purchase another Am. Standard plumbing fixture, given the poor quality of the design of the cartridge. If you do decide to purchase a cartridge, be sure to purchase 2 - one for now and the second to put in later.
Either a Delta or Moen seems better designed and give many more years of trouble free use, and the parts are readily available.

First, do yourself a favor and do not purchase the inexpensive shower faucet. The one I purchased leaked from the shower head right out of the box. Even the replacement cartridge leaked so I pulled it back apart and tightened the Phillips screws, took a file and took about 1/32 off the legs which fit against the inside water deflector and reinstalled and it didn't leak...finally. Please know this isn't a slam against Home Depot as they were very accommodation. I am however disappointed with American Standard and their lack of qc which allows a substandard product such as this to reach the consumer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SCgeek Works perfectly but there are two replaceable parts in system
My shower faucet was leaking so I replaced this valve body. It still leaked because the other bad part was the Pressure Balance unit (also sold by Homedepot - Model # M952100-0070A
Internet # 100423146). It is the plastic part inserted into the brass housing behind the valve.
The Pressure Balance unit is supposed to just pull out of the brass housing. In my case, it was very challenging to remove, requiring both drilling to make a gripable point and much brute force.
Once both parts were replaced, no more leak.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disgusted Easy to install, but faucet sill leaks.
It was easy enough to install the new cartridge, and the faucet appeared to work without leaking. However, as soon as I put the PUR water filtration unit on, it began to leak again. I will NOT buy another American Standard faucet.

Easy to install. Removed old seal ring and replaced them with new ones and then installed the Ceramic Cartridge. Assembled the kitchen faucet back together and the severe leak was fixed. No more excessive water pouring out when opening the faucet, now the sink remains dry and in order.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rosietheriveter exactly what I wanted
Exactly what I wanted. I had been assured that I could return it to the store for a refund if it wasn't, but it installed quickly and worked perfectly, after arriving quickly. No more leaky faucet that won't shut off! Would definitely order from here again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TS101 FIx for leaking Amer. Standard faucet??
Didn't work. It still leaks. Not from below sink, but around top base of faucet. Maybe "O" ring, but not sure how that would stop overall leaking problem.
