Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bobbyd just remodeled my bathroom and this toilet is great one flush is all you need
This toilet only uses 1.6 gal of water and it flushes better than any toilet I've ever seen, also it sits higher for easer to get off of, I've remodeled my complete bathroom with everything from home depot, on line and at the store, The best experience I've ever had with all the Home Depot employes (no exceptions) Love shopping at home depot

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DIMself This toilet is Unstopable
Im very happy with the performance of this toilet! Others in the past have failed but this one is unstopable. In the 2 years of owning it, its taken everything down with out a problem.
One thing I didn't like was that the gasket on the flapper "failed" and leaked water from the tank to the bowl. There wasn't any water to clean up but every now and then I would hear the tank refilling.
I ran over to Home Depot and picked up a new gasket for $5. Not the end of the world though considering the awesome performance of this toilet!
It would be a 5 out of 5 star BUT the gasket from the factory failed, so it gets a 4 out of 5

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Skye Love this toilet - function and form!
Installed this in a downstairs guest bath - used by over 200 people for events in the first month. Flawless and great low water usage. I am SO happy with this toilet!

Basically it came down between this model and Kohler Cimmarron Comfort Hieght 2-pc elongated with class six flushing. Both excellent specs and reviews. Both #1 and #2 rated by Consumer reports. One BIG difference... Amer Std Champion 4 had 10 year warranty. Kohler only 1 year? Having made the dicision to replace my Mayfield toilet after I already replaced innards 3 times in 10 years and was leaking again, the fact that a toilet mfc would stand behind their product that long made it a "no brainer" desicion for me. They were both about the same price in store.
Everything I needed including slow closing seat / lid was in the carton. Everything inside tank is already assembled. I simply applied new wax ring, set, attached tank to body ( nice design-no gap under tank makes for easy cleaning). Then attached seat and hooked up water and Va-Voom! No more two flush toilets! Very powerful yet resonably quiet flush followed by very quiet fill. Also, enjoying the comfortable new height and elongated seat. Combined with a hot cup of coffee and some reading material, the Champion 4, makes certain that it's more pleasure than business when it comes to "Doing your Business".

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Twinkiltoes LOVE IT!
Have had issues with plugging toilets and having to flush 3 time's from #2. So we bought this and this is a big toilet but I love the way it flushes quick and efficient and there isn't the spray of water. Two things don't like is I am 5'4' and it almost is a little high for me so females may want to sit on before buying. The other is because of the energy efficient aspect there is not enough water in the bowl for #2.
You may have to clean with a brush it after each #2. But that is probably an issue with every water saving toilet. The other thing is we replaced the handle with an oil rub bronze one and had trouble finding one that would work with it. I haven't had it long enough for any seal leak issues. We plan on putting two more in for our other baths. Overall I think you would love this toilet, gone are the plugged over flowing toilets.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JimS Great with one exception
I have owned this for three months and honestly think it would flush a grapefruit or raincoat. Only downside is it needs frequent cleaning do to the shape of the bowl, which accumulates fecal matter on almost every use.
The colors are available, but cost extra. Overall, a great piece of plumbing

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bitterwood Good Fixtures with problems
I had two of these installed in two separate bathrooms. I had to call back the plumbers who installed them, because (1) though the flush worked well for liquid, it did not clean completely clean the "throat" of the fixture when the mass was solid; and (2) the top segment of the fixture sat about 3/8s of an inch lower on one side than the other -- small but annoying. The plumbers did what they could on the latter, tightening connections, and improved the situation somewhat. They told me I would have to deal with the first problem by holding the handle down longer for a solid mass, which has so far been effective but also annoying -- to have to alter how one uses the handle depending on circumstances.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Danfriends Bought 2 and now sorry. Liked it at first. Valve leaks.
Less than 2 year later the seal leaks and the tank water falls using about $20 in water in one month! Replacement parts are not available at Home Depot. The part they sell is for a different model. Had to special order the $7.50 part and the screw that holds it on is to tight and easily broken when taken off requiring replacement of the whole valve.
