They give you 2 plastic sockets to tighten the nuts for assembly. You'll need a crescent wrench to remove old toilet & for feed line connection.

However this week we had six people in our house instead of two. Toilet was used much more. Since the tank is not lined it had condensation running down the sides continually. Had to put a towel under the tank all week. Not nice for my guests. Complained to the retailer where I bought it and they said they all do that now Will be looking for a lined tank next time.

First off I don't like stool matter that sticks to the sides of the bowl after you flush and a second flush won't work. It's disgusting to walk in my bathroom and see stool stuck to the insides of the bowl. Second the glaze does not go all the way up and under the rim of the bowl inviting germs and what ever to reside if you don't keep it cleaned all the time. It's too tall for my small frame. I don't like being able to not touch the floor with my feet. Regretted purchase first day. I see it's been discontinued. All I have to say is GOOD!

We bought 3 toilets to use in our home and used a licensed plumber to install these. It seems very difficult to make the toilet flush the first time. You have to guess at when to 'let go' of the handle. If it is too soon, then the paper does not go down. Too late, you have to wait a minute or so for it to refill before re-flushing. Can an adjustment be made to help flush on the 'first time'?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Price not worth the product With the claim of the ability to flush a bucket of golf balls, this toilet is a joke. Golf balls flush-able but not a whole roll of unwrapped toilet paper? The actual thing a toilet should flush...No Go. Toilet was bested by Angel Soft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good toilet for price - prefer 1.6gpf works better than the 1.28gpf I've bought the American standard champion elongated before for 2 other bathrooms I had redone, but wanted the round one for this bathroom - I like the 1.6 gpf - works beautifully - and the toilet was easily installed - I think it took me maybe 30 minutes all by myself - hardest part that took the longest was screwing the tank bolts on, positioning was a little awkward and harder than other toilets I've installed, but it looks nice and functions perfectly. This is the 7th bathroom I have redone and the 5th new toilet. I've used American Standard 3 times now - I like the self cleaning 1.6 gpf and the flushing power - noticing a big difference in the water bills.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All around as described Overall a nice product for the price. Would be nice to see a more detailed installation video for the toilet on the American Standard Website; specifically showing how the tank is supposed to fit on both rims of the bowl. I had to crank the bolts down extremely tight to get the gasket compressed enough so that the tank would set on the front and back rims of the bowl. Also showing the proper amount of time/water that needs to flow from the tank to the bowl for a flush. The flush handle could be made of better materials, i.e. metal rather than plastic. Lastly, I don't understand why there is so much water leftover in the tank that is not used to flush the toilet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with the toilet, but sad to not see it in stock anymore. This is our second Champion 4. We had no problem assembling or installing it. Maybe they changed parts? It was a piece of cake. That's unusual for us. This replaced the last water-sucking toilet we had in the house. It fills up so much faster than our last. Oh! One thing...for those who say they don't get a "full flush", you might have to adjust the chain. We had to tighten it up a couple beads because it wouldn't lift the stopper up enough to flush. Yeah, those chains are a little tricky, but 10 minutes and you're done. Just use a small screwdriver to pry the separation open a bit and the ball chain will come free. (Count the beads BEFORE you undo it, so you know how many beads to tighten up to!)
