Thought this would be a good, cheaper alternative for a job and even though the toilet looked fine, will go back to the Cadet 3 for almost any job. Better parts and 3" flush valve is the only way to go.

This toilet is awful, will not take a large B.M. works OK for a small B.M., but who can control that ? Have to plunge it all the time and it is only 3 months old. No one has dropped anything into it as it is used by one female adult, no small kids in the house or around it. Called the tech line said adjust the water level, well the water level was already higher than it should be and I told them so. Next they said maybe it got dirt in the rim holes from the install, nope I've done a few installs and am very careful, but cleaned them out anyway, still plugs up ! Have a cheap off brand toilet in my garage that is 4 yrs old and it will take anything, never has had a problem. Took the tank lid off on the cheap toilet and found out it has a 3 inch flush valve where as the American Standard Colony model only has a 2 inch flush valve, mystery solved !!! It's too late to take this toilet back, as Homedepot has a 90 day return policy and am at 91 days and they carry a very limited supply of American Standard toilets, would have to order one and would be without a toilet in that bathroom, disabled person only able to use that bathroom, so have to have toilet in that room

The very first bowel movement required six (6) flushes along with plunging to complete the flush. Now I am talking an adult man movement, not a small child. I was so dissatisfied that I returned the second unit and ordered a Toto which has proven to meet my personal needs. The American Standard that we installed is still in the upstairs bathroom is still there but it is just not satisfactory for my personal needs.

I was disappointed in the estimated time of delivery and the actual time the toilet arrived at Home Depot. I had to explain to my customer that we are still waiting. The toilet arrived and looked fine. The installation was typical until I filled the toilet with water. The American standard fill valve wouldn't shut off. I had to install another on in order for it to work properly.

Fortunately I had a spare one handy from a previous repair kit that I bought, and once I swapped it out the leak stopped. Now it is working well, but I don't think I would buy it again because of this issue.
