Customer Questions & Answers

I need a laundry faucet, can this bar faucet be used in a laundry sink? What's the difference between the bar faucet and laundry sink>

Asked by: Eeeee
Yes, it can be used for a laundry sink. The typical "laundry faucet" has 4 inch centers between the hot and cold connections and this one does also. Just be sure you have the room for the tall spout under any cabinets that may be above the sink. This one is about 10.5 inches above the deck. A difference between a bar and laundry faucet is style, finish and spout height. Some laundry faucets are very utilitarian with hose threads on the spout and bar faucets can "dress it up". I added a swivel spray aerator to mine for more ease of use rinsing large objects and the tall sides of the sink.

Will this faucet work with a 2-hole bar sink configuration

I want to buy the MOEN Camelot drop-in Sink (model 22246) and need to know if this faucet will work with it.
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, there are only two holes about 4" apart that you need to mount this faucet.

is the aerator screwed onto hose faucet threads so a hose can be attached like a laundry faucet?

Asked by: Anonymous
No, not on this faucet. It would need an adaptor aerator and I would not recommend it on this type of spout. It is not made for that kind of utility.

Is this a 4" or 8" faucet? Our laundry sink can be ordered with either 4" or 8" holes. Thank you!

Asked by: Anonymous
This is a 4 inch center faucet specifically made for a 2 hole bar sink but can be used on a laundry sink with 4 inch center drilled holes. It's not made for an 8 inch center sink where the typical kitchen faucet at 1, 3 or 4 hole installation is done.

I like the fixture; however, water continued to drip when both valves were in the off position. I traced the problem to the hot water side and realized that I was dealing with an obvious manufacturing malfunction which suggested minimal quality control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, works well, long life I purchased this because I have the same faucets from American Standard with the ceramic valves, but for the kitchen and bathrooms. For over 5 years, they have been working very well. The early models used a nut that corrodes, which holds the valves in place, which could have been a major problem, but fortunately, we caught it just in time, otherwise it could have caused a serious flood. The newer models use a brass nut and they don't corrode and fall apart like the early ones do. Other than that, they have performed remarkably well. The handles turn easily and smoothly and by the way, the installation is very simple!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Am Standard Colony Faucet Just installed this in the kitchen and it works great- very smooth, drip free, and attractive to boot. The gooseneck design ensures that it won't get in the way of a pile of dirty dishes or adding water to the tea pitcher. We replaced a single handle design with this and the difference is night and day. The best part? The cost is relatively low but the quality is there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality throughout Easily installed, in this case on a laundry sink, 90° turn from off to full on. Solid piece with silky-smooth valve-action. High neck stem allows working under the stream. I used plumber's putty to bed the unit . . . something the instructions ignore, but good practice for any sink fixture if you want to insure there will never be any water penetrating under the base to eventually drip down into the cabinet below.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a good purchase. Spend a little more and get a better faucet. We have had this faucet about four years now and it leaks near the base, The chrome is also peeling off. Spend another 20 to 30 dollars and get a better one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faucet is dog's best friend American Standard Colony Faucet has solved many houshold issues; like watering the dog! And looks great doing it. Installation was a breeze.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from When the control cartridges aren't breaking the faucet works fine. I've had mine for less than a year and they have broken 3 times. The company is good about sending new parts, but after spending $60 I shouldn't have to be fixing it every couple of monthes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple but nice. I was having a hard time finding a simple, brushed nickel bar sink faucet. You can find cheap ones in chrome everywhere but BN was what I needed. This worked perfect.
