The heater is very simple to install but it can not be plugged into the same circuit as the pump so an additional electric circuit is required.

The EZ-Install Whirlpool Bathtub Heater does not increase the heat in the whirlpool – the temperature of the whirlpool bath is constantly maintained by a built-in thermostat for as long as you desire.
Once the heater is installed and the whirlpool pump is operating, the heater is totally automatic. The unit is designed to trip if the heat selected on the whirlpool is exceeded – thereby ensuring that you will have a constant temperature.
The heater includes an exclusive “Intelligent High-Limit.” This safety circuit will only turn the heater off if the thermostat fails.

EZ Install 1500-Watt Whirlpool Heater is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buy Safe T Heater instead - CHEAPER Just got of the phone with American Standard - EZ install heater and Safe T heater (both on this website) are the same. Customer service literally said: Buy the cheapest, they are identical. So go for the Safe T heater - $132,-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Make sure to read instructions - GFI! This will not heat a tub full of water very quickly (e.g., from warm to hot); however, it does keep hot-water hot very well (great for a relaxing 2-hour soak). To answer the earlier reviewer's question, the heater works automatically by sensing water flow. It is set to heat the water to 104 degrees and does not have any adjustment feature that I could find. When you install, be sure to follow the grounding instructions, including grounding the chasis and testing the GFI circuit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product is really valuable and works as advertised. Some installation challenges and use issues. I'm really glad I got this whirlpool heater. I'm enjoying longer, hotter baths. And that is very good for sore muscles and medical conditions. Installation notes: You will need a channel-lock pliers large enough for the pipe - probably 12-inch handle. If you are not comfortable with both plumbing and electrical installation, hire an expert. Follow the instructions carefully. Installation is dependent on having a good grounding location for the heavy grounding wire available under the tub. That is supposed to be on the pump, but it may not be there or may not be reachable. If it's not there, installation may be a real hassle. A 3-prong GFI outlet is also essential. Use: The heater will keep a hot tub hot indefinitely, and will slowly warm a warm tub to hot. But it is not regulated - it will keep heating until the bath is 104 degrees F. If this is too hot for you, there are two options. You can run a trickle of cold water into the bath. Or, since the heater is tied to the pump, you can turn off the jets, and the bath will cool. You may want to buy a hot tub thermometer, as the heat can fool you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whirlpool heater Heater works great. It not only maintains water but actually heats it. It was easy to install-unscrew 2 couplings take out the blank tube, install the heater in it's place, connect ground wire, and plug it into the wall. The heater only works when there is water pumping thru the jets,. It senses the water flow and turns itself on and off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toasty Warm Remodeled master bath in condo and so glad I splurged to get the heater. The bath water stays nice and warm in the whirlpool tub. Don't think I'd use as much if I didn't have my contractor install this heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps the temperature nicely We were remodeling our bathroom and installing a whirlpool tub. I initially didn't plan on including this but our contractor insisted. He said he had other customers who skimped and didn't buy this, only to regret it soon after. I have found that my bath water stays at the temperature I initially made it when I filled it up. We were a bit perplexed as there is very little paperwork with this and we wondered if it had the ability to heat the water up more or would it just keep it the same. There is no way for us to designate a temperature or levers or buttons to regulate it, so we've assumed it is just keeping the temperature the same and we have not noticed any drop in temperature while using the bath. My only complaint is that I would have liked a more thorough manual so we could have a better idea of what the complete function of this unit is. That being said, I really have no complaints. It is doing its job and that's the most important part.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working according to adverisement Manual says it will maintain whatever temp you have the water at when you turn on the pump. It does not work that way. It continually heats the water until it reaches 104 degrees. That is not maintaining.
