Answer:
This tub is designated as a drop in tub but the deck is flat so it could be used in an under mount application. A dedicated 15 amp 115 volt circuit is required for the pump/motor.

Yes, this tub can be used in an under mount application. This model has a 120 volt pump that plugs into a GFCI receptacle. The outlet needs to be on a dedicated circuit.

The Home Depot stocks the EZ Heat-100 for the 2732LC model tub. There is no heater option on the older 2372.018 version. Thank you

If you are talking about the voltage for the pump, it's 120 volt pump that plugs into a GFCI receptacle that should be on a dedicated circuit.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 33 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This is an excellent tub for the price. Very happy with it. It is also shaped to be very comfortable to lay in. The tub was easy to get home and install. It tested perfectly the first time. It runs well and has a comfortable design to sit in. The only thing I would change is make the jets more adjustable. They seem to work really hard or really soft and need an in between. October 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Motor Issues Motor just kicked out for the third time. Get what you pay for. May 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Access panel does not make sense in most cases I suspect that many people buy a drop in tub because they have an alcove (like I do). You have to make access at either end of the alcove- but it is impossible in my case, and I would bet in many others. Why wouldn't they make the access panel along a side? So you can access the access panel. What do I know? April 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TO EARLY BIRD GETTING BLACK FLOATIES We bought this under in 2006, and Love it very much, but we had that problem too....this is what to do: get a spray bottle of SCRUB FREE Bathroom Cleaner, with BLEACH( MILDEW STAIN REMOVER) all that's on the bottle. Spray directly into the jets and the tub to clean it....wait at lease 5minutes (longer can't hurt) then use the shower head to spray directly into all jets; use a cleaning brush that won't scratch your tub and about 2tspns of Detergent to brush around the jets outer casing because mildew and hair gets around it, and to clean the whole tub and walls. DO THIS ONCE A WEEK!!! You should not have anymore problems just a lot of fun, and relaxation. October 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AMAZING TUB! This bathtub is so wonderful, easy to clean, fills up quickly and looks very high end. When redoing our bath, we replaced a large 2 person jacuzzi tub (it was like a swimming pool that took FOREVER to fill and was really hard to clean) with this smaller tub. Since getting this tub, I could take a bath every night. The jets are strong and the tub is super quiet. It is a breeze to clean. I can't say enough good things. I was skeptical about the price, I thought it would be poor quality, but after spending $1800 on my last tub and not wanting to use it, I couldn't be happier. My husband saved the heater from our other tub and it worked with this one. My favorite room in the house is now my bathroom, especially with this tub. January 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by My whirlpool tub Excellent value but be careful not to chip the surface when moving it. June 9, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad. The wife is happy. This is a decent tub. I had to return the first one after plumbing it in because there was a crack in the pump that was only noticeable after the jets were turned on. That was no fun so maybe it tainted my opinion. The tub works as described. I wish the wide sides of the tub near the filler side were reinforced. It seems like a bit weak there though I've experienced no problems. I also purchased the heater to go with this tub but returned it because it requires a dedicated gfci and would have added significantly to the cost and difficulty of the install. All of the heaters in the local store had been returned at lease once even the one I purchased. I suspect this is the reason. January 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by some installation issues, but good value Like a lot of people, I purchased this tub based primarily on price. A nice feature of the tub is it holds less water than some of the others, but doesn't give up a lot to save this water. Essentially what American standard does with this is to taper the area around the feet inward, so it saves quite a bit of water. I have another 5' foot whirlpool tub in my main house, and generally run out of hot water before I can fill it. This one is no problem. There are two less jets at the foot area then some of the more expensive units, but there are two jets at the lower back, which to me is a must. Installation: I've only installed about three whirlpool tubs in my life, but all of them had feet on the bottom to keep the tub level, even if they were designed as drop-ins like this tub. This tub does not have feet or level blocks. This made installation much more labor-intensive. I installed ledger boards at 18 1/4 inches (spec for this tub) which leaves about 3/4" on the drain side under the tub, and then about 2 1/2" on the far side. You don't want to rest the weight of the tub on the support boards at the edges or on the deck if you're doing a built-in, so it's a bit of trial and error to figure out the correct height. You could of course lay down a bed of mortar, thinset, etc and push or rest the tub into this, but 2 1/2" is a really thick bed (and heavy) .I prefer using some foam blocks for the main support (rigid, closed cell like blue foam), and then filling in with expansion foam. I like the expansion foam as it helps to cut down on vibration, and adds insulation, which also helps keeps the water warm. It sure would be nice if American Standard added a couple basic leveling blocks on the bottom to get a person started. I would also prefer to have the motor be located in the front, as if you do this as a traditional tub, the motor is against the wall, and very difficult to access from the front. In my case my kitchen cabinets were on the opposite side, so while I put in an access panel, I will actually have to remove one of the cabinets if I ever need to replace the motor. So, again would be nice if American Standard located the motor in the front, so it could be accessed through the apron. As it is it's pretty awkward. So, if you can live with the issues with this tub, it represents a good value. I really like the fact it holds less water than some of the others, but is still quite comfortable. Good for older homes with less than ideal support. American Standard also adds a "deep soak" overflow valve which raises the water level 2 inches. A very nice add on feature for free, so was pleased to see this. March 7, 2016
