Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We reached out to MFG for more information and below is their response. " When using this tub in a shower application please use Tile Bead Kit 751755-100."

Problem with the drain for this tub?

This tub looks like a very good, long tub, but it looks like it only comes with one kind of drain. When I checked out the reviews on the drain a lot of people complained that it stop working after about 6 months and there were no replacement parts available. I also am not too happy about the idea of the "toe" stopper. I'm assuming you use your toe to stop the water flow? How to you open it up again? Isn't there another option for the drain beside the one that is recommended? I like the tub, but will not buy it because of the "toe" stopper and the bad reviews on it.
Asked by: BookLover
The toe tapper can certainly be replaced. Please contact American Standard directly for the part.

I also need to know the location of the toilet drain in the concrete, how far off the wall, and the heigth of the valve that supplies the toilet.

Can this tub/shower accommodate 2 sitting and standing?

I would like to install this as a tub and a shower. Would there be enough space to accommodate 2 people in the bath tub for soaking? Will it be comfortable for to people to shower at the same time? I am considering adding a shower head at the head AND the foot end of the tub. Would it be comfortable enough and spacious enough for two people to shower at once; one person on either end? I am concerned that the arm rests at the head of the tub may make the standing experience in the tub somewhat constricting.
Asked by: Megan
Yes it will easily accommodate 2 people seated or standing. This is a very large tub. We also did install 2 shower heads. We chose a deck mount roman tub fill as opposed to a wall mount. Just need to make sure the hardware is of a small enough diameter to fit on the small deck that this tub has. We used Aquasource brand.

What is the minimum underside width of the lip on the tub. Most are about 2.5-3.5 inches.

Very important for the drop in opening. specs say a 34.5 inch opening but that leaves a lip of only 3/4 " and not possible.
Asked by: Deek
The total width of the deck of the tub is approximately 3.25 inches.

Customer Reviews

Evolution 6 ft. x 36 in. Reversible Drain Soaking Tub in White is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get all of you wet at once! I have had this tub for close to a year and can't tell you how much I LOVE it!!! It is so nice to be able to keep all of your body in the water at once. All tub users know that inconvenience of having to have your top or legs out of the water. This tub allows you to comfortably sit with everything underwater at once because of that unique deep soak overflow at the very tip top of the tub. I have to admit that the 36" is a little wider than I think would be necessary for my comfort, but we had the space for it, so that is what I got. I think I could have been just as satisfied with the 32" and it would have used a bit less water. I would highly recommend this tub to anyone who likes to soak in a nice hot bath at the end of a hectic day.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not happy with lack of information regarding extra accessories needed to install this item, need... Not happy with lack of information regarding extra accessories needed to install this item, need to purchase separate overflow pieces and they are specialized to product and not readily available. Probably would not recommend this product because of that alone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love my BIG Tub I can't comment on ease of installation because a Plummer installed it. But the tub is huge. Very roomy. Great price for someone that doesn't need all the bells and whistles of Jacuzzi tubs. We don't take bathes very often but when we do its nice to have the space to relax in . I'm 5'8" hubby is 6'3". We fit without any problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price! Great Product! We searched for an affordable 6" foot tub and found this. It looks great and installed easily. We read somewhere before our purchase that deck mount fill hardware were not recommended for this tub. We were able to find a deck mount tub fill that worked well. BUT, please note not all tub fills will fit this narrow lip, see pics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted We were looking for a non-whirlpool tub that was deep enough to actually soak in, not just the lower 8 inches. this tub is perfect for what we wanted, maybe a little too big, but we're not exactly big people. I love it! It's very comfortable to just lean back and relax.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the DEEP soaking capacity My wife says it is her all time favorite tub and that is something since we have built or remodeled 8 homes over the years. While as a designer and builder I liked the clean lines that fit well in a contemporary or transitional bath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like the tub Over all we are happy but a giant ploblem occured when it never said it was a drop-in unit. It cost us 1500 more then our budget because of this. We wish it stated it somewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Tub We ordered this tub after my 6'4" husband refused to go with the smaller version. I am so happy we got it. It is much deeper and longer than the other tubs we have. It's perfect- though we did have to redo our wall to make it fit the room- well worth it. On the negative, I wish it came with the overflow/drain system. I am not sure why it wouldn't come with it? Anyway, for $100 more we had to buy that too.
