I'm getting new countertops and thus a new faucet however I prefer the look of no base plate with new granite countertops. I love this faucet though, thus could it be used in single hold without the baseplate?

Answer:
There are two versions - one brushed, one glossy. I believe the glossy is slightly more expensive.

The head has gotten clogged completely (no water coming through) twice in it's first day of use. I've had to clean granular black debris off the screen each time. Is this normal?

The debris feels rubbery. Is it possible a washer disintegrated? Or an internal part?

Answer:
It is possible that when the water had been shut off and turned back on it sent a bunch of debris into the spray head. You can soak the head in some white vinegar and that should help.

Answer:
Not real sure that's the problem. Do you have a mold problem in the house? If so, check the hot and cold water hoses for any issues. I doubt that's the issue - mold won't grow inside a sealed system. Sounds more like the issue ay be in the screen at the faucet end - the part that the water comes out of. Take the screen off and check it for ay contamination. Best of luck....

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 321 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Served our need for a high kitchen faucet. Looks good. Only have it for a short time but it works well and looks very nice. Was about $60 cheaper than comparable Moen model so we gave it a try. Time will tell but so far we are pleased. June 28, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good for a year Replaced after a year because the hose sprung a leak right smack in the middle and couldn't find a replacement for it. Should have lasted longer than a year! June 27, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by nice design It works, with a little help...but I wouldn't buy it again. But for the price, it's a good buy. The pull down sprayer wouldn't go up with out assistance. June 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Faucet, but.... I bought this faucet because it looked nice and didn't cost as much as some of the other pull-down faucets. It has served us well in my house since October but I've noticed that the neck of the faucet has come loose. The entire neck can be lifted up and it is a little wobbly. Otherwise it's nice and it works relatively well. Even with the neck being loose, I would still recommend this faucet. June 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by EASY INSTALL!! Hoses are short! I purchased this faucet to replace my very old Moen kitchen faucet. I read the reviews and decided to buy the American Standard Fairbury faucet. The installation from removing the old faucet and installing the new faucet was flawless (less than 20 minutes) until I was to attach the water lines to my house water. The hoses were 6" TOO SHORT!! I had to go and buy a two 12" supply lines to attach to the supply lines that came with the new faucet. Easy fix, but more money!! The quality of the faucet is Great! The ease of use is perfect! I love the pause feature (you have to hold the button continuously to keep in it in the pause mode. The retractable sprayer works great! The handle is easy to use! The faucet does not drip when turning it off in any position. I would have given 5 stars if it was not for the short supply lines. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Faucet and Great Looking Bought this faucet to replace another brand after it went bad. Installs very easily and directions were very clear. Like the two sprayer options built into the pull out sprayer feature. The sprayer head also returns to the up position well unlike our old faucet. Also has great water pressure unlike some other models , so this was a plus for us since water pressure is so nice. June 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice faucet The faucet was easy to install and worked as promised in enclosed material. June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kitchen Faucet Easy to install, makes it virtually drip free on install. Great height over sink dish drainer, over washing food/vegetables, and easy to maneuver around a busy sink. The water control is great both for choosing temperature, water force, and going from spray to stream. May 20, 2016
