Will this fit a Model 4010 toilet?

Will this fit a Model 4010 toilet?
Asked by: Paul
No. The correct replacement is the Model # 738138-0070, which has been discontinued. The only option is a universal flush valve kit, such as the Fluidmaster Flush Valve Kit Part # 507AKP7.

what makes flapper come off on one side every so often

worked great for 5 years then started coming off every 4 to 5 days
Asked by: homeowner
Not certain exactly what is causing this problem without examining your particular unit, but some years ago I experianced this same issue and after observing my particular unit, I attributed it to normal wear and tear and replaced the assembly. It was a rather inexpensive part and easy to install.

Will this fit an American standard tank with a 3.5" hole in the bottom?
Asked by: DCB
If you have a Cadet model you would have a 3" hole and if you had a Champion model you would have a 4" hole. This particular flush valve is for an older Cadet model. If you are not sure please contact us with the tank number and we will be able to tell you for sure.

I have an American Standard 6L/1.6gpf toilet model is hard to read either CP-2092 2032 2832 2892 The two end numbers appear to be a 2 and the middle are fairly obscured. The stamp wasn't very clear. But it is a one piece toilet with a compressed rubber gasket that squishes when you tighten the flush valves interior nut. Now this doesn't look like the part I will need but I cannot find it on the American Standard website.
Asked by: ChrisP
The part number of the flush valve that you need for this toilet is 738109-0070A.

Follow the instruction carefully, providing Silicone for a proper sealing to the tank. Also, be sure to allow adequate slack in the flush chain when flapper is in the closed position and the chain is attacked to the flush arm to insure that there is no leakage. Two weeks, and no leaks! Wonderful!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Where's the float? It fixed the leaking, but you have to hold the handle down when you flush to get enough water to flush completely. There is no float on the chain to hold the valve up long enough for the water to siphon from the tank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It did the job. After two replacement flappers, I needed to do the job right. Made for my Cadet 3, installation was quick and easy since I also ordered the tank-to-toilet installation kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more leaks! The rubber gasket on the original flush valve began to deteriorate. As a result, tank water would leak by and the fill valve would run intermittently and waste water. This new flush valve installed quite easily and the fill valve has not run once other than after we flush. This oversized 3" flapper can handle a challenge too :-) Having the new flush valve delivered right to our door was convenient and at a reasonable cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Original Parts ! FLUSH VALVE ASSEMBLY The best part it's an original part. I have tried universal replacements but a factory part was needed to do the job once and for all!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only part that works for this toilet The geometry in an american standard low water toilet is such that no other replacement will do. You have to get this or replace the rubber on the flapper. It's not a good design but this is a pretty cheap replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's plastic but pretty good plastic for the price I'm a plumber by trade and I'm beginning to like the new American standard toilets more. Fixing this toilet with replacement part was worth it.
