Answer:
Yes, the center lever is used to divert from shower to tub. I like it better than one on the spout, which always seems to put leak more water down the spout than out the showerhead when you want to shower. So far the diverter lever completely sends all the water to the showerhead. We'll see how that goes as time goes on.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 52 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Looks Nice - terrible design Bought this product to remodel my bathroom, had health issues and wasn't completed until the spring of 2015. I have made 6 plumber calls because the faucets leak, replacement parts have cost well over $150. Parts, plumber and original cost $150 (parts) $440 plumber bills and original cost $523 = $1113 and still doesn't work. Cartridges literally seperate into 2 pieces on the hot water handle. Replaced this cartridge 6 times December 4, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Did not live up to my expectations This product did not live up to my expectations. It seemed to be of good quality and was not too difficult to install. After my installation was complete brand new out of the box the cold water faucet had a significant drip. I tried replacing the cartridge and it still leaked. I removed and inspected the seat and could not find anything to indicate a problem. I completely reassembled the faucet and luckily the leak stopped. So far it has not returned. For the money I paid for this faucet I would have expected to not have to rebuild it to get it to work properly. October 8, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not made of metal and missing a piece Like many of the newer faucets, the handles are made of chrome painted plastic, which was disappointing for the price. The installation took almost 5 hours with a professional, but that might have been due to our existing plumbing. There was a piece missing, so we had to have it shipped and put it on ourselves. It does look better than our last fixture, but was a lot of hassle! January 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Received a defective product I shopped around and was excited to find this three piece tub faucet set since it had a little style and would fit in with the look we were going for in our bathroom remodel. Our handymen tried their hardest, but one of the handles just could not be installed correctly. Because they were already onsite, we didn't have time to re-order a new set and had to go get whatever was available in stock at our local home depot. In the end we saved $100 buying a much plainer set, but I do wish this set had worked out. Home Depot was great about the return process however, so I did appreciate that. September 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by looks great the installation issue was not the products fault but the difficulty in accessing the original hardware to remove and replace. the item was purchased because of a very strong leak from the original faucet, and that has been completely eliminated. the shower head is a little flimsy and I ended up keeping my removable head, but main reason for purchase was to replace tub faucet and handles. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Shower BOdy Honestly, I did not instal lit myself but it all went well. The only issue was that the plumbers raised the height of the shower head. I imagine they are all the same height. If you are over 6 feet tall you will need to so that too. If not, no need to worry about it. December 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Faucet Ever Purchased I had this faucet installed in 2012. It has now fallen apart. One of the handle's core cooper part needed replacement and the diverter (called transfer valve kit). There are plastic parts within these 2 spare parts which is an indication of a poor quality. Replacing of the transfer valve is a nightmare. It requires a special 14 mm deep well socket. I checked with Home Depot and Lowes stores and I could not find a socket deep enough with this size. I contacted American Standards and they quickly pushed back on providing any information about tools. I told him that similar products may come with the socket since it is not a very common tool, but they did not care. This faucet can only be replaced with the same exact faucet. Otherwise you will need to break the wall to get to the valve to replace the whole faucet. Overall, I would not recommend this faucet and I would not buy any American Standard product in the future. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Old Fashioned Look This one gave me a little trouble. The directions not real clear. Took a couple of tries to adjust the handle position. Shower force not really that great. Looks new and shiny and classy. November 6, 2014
