"Rough-in valve is sold separately". How important those words are! I didn't think that would be that big of a deal, but after pounding the pavement I have come to learn that while this kit is pretty it is not worth your time to purchase it. You are much better off buying this trim set WITH the valve (which Home Depot does NOT sell an all inclusive set). To buy it separately is a pain because in most cases it has to be special ordered. I got lucky and found a plumbing supply warehouse in my area that had few of these in stock. The valve by itself is almost as expensive as the trim kit! While I like Am. Standard this kit was not worth my time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Schwaja American Standard Shower Single Handle Faucet
We installed an American Standard Single Handle Shower Faucet in the Master Bathroom. We liked the subtle hot/cold labels and overall brushed nickel with clean, smooth lines and nice finish.
The only negative is that the valve leaks on installation. Not sure if some debris was trapped in valve.
Overall much happier with design, ease of installation, and smooth action over similar brands starting with "M" to which I am not a fan.
Highly recommend this valve/shower combination.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DaveK Doesn't fit older Hampton version.
Don't purchase this kit if you have the older version of the shower valve (4 screws in the face). It doesn't fit. Contacted the company and was advised that I would have to replace all the plumbing. Not an option.
