I bought this surround to match the Ovation curved tub. The tub itself is made from nice, thick, fiberglass and is very sturdy. This surround, however, is made from impossibly thin acrylic. I mean, I couldn't believe how thin this stuff was. For $250 this is a joke, should be more like $50. I tried to mitigate the flexing by adding perpendicular sister joists and expanding insulating foam but nothing really worked. If you look at this thing the wrong way it bends and flexes. It looks pretty nice and cleans easily, that about all I can say that's nice about it. I expected much more from a name like American Standard and the price I paid.

I did not install this product on my own - it was installed by a professional so I can not comment on the ease of installation. Aesthetically the unit is nice but seems a bit flimsy. Because it is a direct to stud unit there is no drywall backing the thin plastic walls and you can see a shadow of the studs in your shower walls. Also the plastic bends to the touch if you press on it between the studs. I am confident there are other products out there at the same price that are better quality - but unfortunately this was the only set up in this price range in the size i needed. I would not purchase this product again.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Andy Ovation 3 piece tub surround
I installed this unit over dry wall as a remodel, those outside flanges look bad and the humps where the sides join the back look bad. I am looking for trim to hide this poor fitting outside flange. A competitor sells a thin surround like this for $87 I was thinking that this would be a better quality unit for the price. But not we like the ovation tub so that is why without a thorough study I made the mistake of buying this unit.
