Would it be ok to put liquid nails between the stringer and tub to help hold the tub in place? I am going to use Structolite under the tub, but did not want to use the screws over the flange.

I have an extremely hard time getting the tub clean with regular bathroom products. Would it be ok to use a power washer on low settings to clean the tub or would it damage the acrylic?

Answer:
Greetings Jamie,
You may have scratched/damaged the acrylic already, depending on which "regular" bathroom products you used. Since you're having a hard time cleaning it, I would guess this is the problem.
I would avoid using a power washer since it could do further damage.
Sorry, I know my response isn't what you were looking for.
Good luck.

Answer:
American Standard does not recommend using a power washer to clean your acrylic tub. For regular cleaning please use SpicnSpan and warm water or for stubborn spots use Gel-Gloss.

Answer:
The drain hole and overflow are an industry standard size so any preferred drain should adapt to the tub.

Greetings Jessica,
Search HomeDepot's site for lift and turn bathtub drain. Also search for cable driven drains. There are numerous drains available through HomeDepot.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 39 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Big on style, easy to clean My renovation guys had no trouble installing this tub. We used white gloss subway tiles for the surround. The tub's front curve and spaciousness steals the show - stylish and inviting. I chose it to replace a garden tub that made the small-ish master bath seem cramped. This tub adds lots of foot space and the luxury feel that my pre-reno bathroom was missing while keeping me in a reasonable budget range. August 2, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good tub, looks good Good tub, looks good in the space. had professionals install it. took them a little longer to install than expected. April 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely tub The Ovation is great for getting more bathing and showering space in a small bathroom. Paired with a curved shower rod (of course) it makes a really roomy shower. I love the look of it, too; a graceful and elegant shape. I'm a little daunted by the cleaning instructions; so many "normal" bathroom cleaning products are on the "do not use" list; can I really only use Dawn dish soap on it? So far it looks fine but it hasn't had much use yet. All in all, I'm very happy we chose it. November 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for the price! I was hesitant on purchasing this tub for only $250. For some odd reason I would've felt better if the tub was in the $400 range. However, after purchasing, this has got to be the best deal in town. I read in one review, the reviewer claimed the material was only 1/16 " thick. Not true at all. I'm 61 yrs old, my wife and I installed this tub on a second floor. Keep in mind, you can't toss around the merchandise and expect it not to break. We did set the tub per manufacturers instructions, in a bed of mortar (2-60lb bags). This was after we tried a dry fit of the tub. Very pleased with the tub. We clean it with dish washing soap (no cleaners are recommended), and it cleans up spotless. The center line from toilet to tub did not change enough to make a difference in our bathroom. But, l guess it could be a problem if you are pressed for room. It is very comfy. The only thing I don't like about it is, once I get in it, I don't want to get out!! Keep in mind, in any remodeling involving a tub, you probably will have to re-rough the plumbing since something will change from what it used to be. November 7, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice looking, but needed a little tune up to install The tub looks very good, very smooth and shiny including the non-skid tub area, and the acrylic thermoform is backed up by a strong layer of fiberglass. My wife and I did at least four dry fits so we got pretty good at easing it into the alcove and pulling out again. I did not use the mortar bed as they suggested since it seemed very stable. I put a layer of construction adhesive on the two 3/4" thick rails the tub sits on, and along the 2x4 ledge boards they recommend. My only complaint is that the outlet drain was not sanded level so the outlet plumbing was badly crooked. It wasn't hard to fix though, I just used a sanding disk on my drill and leveled it out myself, but that should be a basic quality check for American Standard. Overall though the tub seems very strong, solid and a great value. November 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Permanently Stained first week Not sure what the plumber did or did not do, but the tub backed up the first time I took a bath. I have tried everything imaginable to remove the ring around the tub with no success. So disappointing. The tub is very roomy and looks nice, but I would not recommend it. October 26, 2015
