Portsmouth 8 in. Widespread 2-Handle High Arc Bathroom Faucet with Speed Connect Drain in Polished Chrome is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from elegant and functional The faucet was installed easily and it looks great. It is elegant but unpretentious and works smoothly. After shopping around I found that the price I paid was very reasonable compared with the price of the same product offered by other retailers and with other brands of equivalent quality.

It was $139.00 then. The pros- The faucet is of absolutely beautiful design, they did a great job. The finish on all of the parts outstanding. It never stained, never changed color, and was easy to clean. The quality of the materials and manufacture were excellent. The valve bodies were made of beautifully machined cast brass, hoses were stainless steel braid covered from the valves to the spout. No junk! I was amazed as to how simple the installation was. There were no issues, and it went really quick. (The design of the drain control is ingenious). The cons- When I first installed the faucet, I noticed that the handles took a bit more effort to move than other faucets of other brands that I had used. One finger operation should do it, it didn't on this one. I called American Standard and spoke with them about my concern, they sent me (2) new valve cartridges. I installed them but unfortunately didn't notice any difference, so I decided to live with it. Fast forward about four years, I'm noticing that the handles are becoming more difficult to turn. It now takes considerable effort (for a modern day faucet) to turn the water on and off. (Both hot and cold). Another year later and I'm feeling grinding in the handles as i move them to turn the water on and off. I decide it's time to do something. The hot was the worst, so I tried to remove the handle from the valve body. It is supposed to easily unscrew. It won't move. I end up having to hold the valve body from below with a wrench and have a helper use both hands to unscrew the "skirt" of the handle on top. I found that the underside of the handle assembly had corroded to such a point that it was not usable, nor was it serviceable. There was also an extreme amount of corrosion on top of the valve cartridge. I figured that the cold water side was just as bad if not worse, so I decided to leave it alone for now, I would probably destroy it in trying to remove it. I contacted American Standard and spoke to a very nice girl. She was very polite and helpful, but I didn't get the impression that she was really on top of her game. I requested valve cartridges and valve handles (and related hardware) for both the hot and cold side of my faucet. Just to make sure that she understood what I needed, I repeated my request, and she agreed. A week or so later, the package came in. When I opened it, I found the replacement parts for only one side of my faucet, and the finish on the handle was not the same as the rest of the faucet. It looked very out of place. I installed the parts on the side that I had taken apart, and left it that way for about two weeks. My wife and I decided that the looks of the repair were not acceptable, so we went shopping for a new faucet. I cant say weather I would recommend for or against this faucet. When I made the purchase five years ago this faucet was called "Neo Traditional". It is now called "Portsmouth". Same faucet, but the valve handle has a different part number that the one that I purchased. Was that an improvement done to cure the corrosion problem? I would hope so, but..........

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst purchase ever… This is my worst purchase ever; I bought this faucet to replace the old faucet that was leaking. After paying to have it installed this new faucet leaked worse than the old one. The plumber replaced the stem and it still leaked. The leak was coming from the faucet housing. I called the telephone number on the paper work and they said they would replace it. Weeks have past and nothing but a still leaking faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beatiful, sturdy and easy to install This faucet was very easy to install with a minimum of fuss. Very well made and the design and finish really is quite beautiful. The faucet has a strong stream of water even with the water saving feature. Definitely a quality product and I do recommend buying it. I was not looking forward to fitting this with my head under the sink, but with the easy fittings, it only took 30 minutes to fit it securely and be leak free. As I stated, this faucet is a quality product and have no problem with highly recommending it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed I have the faucet a few years, I love the appearance an that's about it. I have already replaced both knobs because they were very loose, the handle would move up and down causing the handle to look cheap, since it's all one piece the entire piece had to be replaced. Also, we have had to change the drain stopper twice, the pulley has stopped working and will only keep the stopper down. Can't have it replaced unless, I can find my receipt. Supper frustrated

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sink drain won't hold water Had professionals twice replace drain that won't hold water, still fails and leaks out. Very disappointing for such expensive faucet hardware.
