Will this install require additional framing support for the rear and side decks or even underneath on this one ? If so is there a template or measures included in the packaging for placement ?

Purchased after reviewing other tubs. Like the Americast process and the reputation of American Standard. Looks good and came with good cleaning instructions. We are aware of and use a soft cleanser. Water and drains not yet hooked up, but looking forward to using.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good basic tub Replaced a fiberglass tub enclosure with this and tile above. I was pleased that even I could maneuver it around by myself, in opening the box to inspect it for defects. Installed easily and I like the lower height for ease of step-in. No complaints. It's a good basic tub. In my search, HD had the best price on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bath tub for kids The Princeton tub is the best bathtub for kids. It offers great kid-friendly benefits. I like the full slip-resistant surface, it keeps my kids from falling, even with our soft well-water. My kids like that this tub is deeper, flatter and roomier than older cast iron type tubs because the have room to stretch out and play. We all agree that the Americast Brand Engineered Material is genius as it keeps the bath water warmer for longer. Sometimes too long as my kids don't want to get out of the bathtub ever since the water stays so warm! :) This is an excellent choice for any bathroom, but especially for kids and elderly to prevent falls. Read my full review on AkronOhioMoms website. My review was that of my own experience, thank you American Standard for the review items for my blog.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Standard Tub Nothing to rave about, but this seems to be a good solid tub. My plumber recommended it as it is sturdy as cast iron, but much, much lighter. Has little non-skid pads (done very discreetly) on the bottom of the tub to reduce slipping. No complaints. This is only 14" high which I bought for my mom, so she can easily step in & out of this tub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from using americast since 1990 In 1990 was looking for a good substitute for cast iron, americast had just come out and the sales man at the supply house said it was the best thing sinced sliced bread. Having heard those word before I first installed it in my own house, after 21 years it still look great and works great. It is my standard tub for all instalations that the owner wants a tub shower combination. never had a recall, does't rust or rot like many steel tubs good product for any standard bath.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Everything the negative reviews say is true There are lots of things to potentially love about this tub. It's not particularly expensive, but what's really cool is that it's shallower than the typical tub. If you having someone who would benefit from having to step into lower tub, then it's really perfect. In our case, we wanted it because we have two young children and the lower tub walls make it easier to bathe them while being outside of the tub. Anyway, functionality-wise, it's exactly what we had hoped for, however everything you read in the negative reviews is true -- this tub chips just from looking at it the wrong way. We've had the tub for two weeks and a chip appeared. We don't even know when the chip happened as it just seemed to appear there one day. Nothing hard has ever been in the tub so we have no idea how it even happened. Shallower tubs are a rare find, but I suggest you re-think this one before you pull the trigger.
