Will this install require additional framing support for the rear and side decks or even underneath on this one ? If so is there a template or measures included in the packaging for placement ?

I know it's 5' long. But what is the inside dimension? I am trying to outfit a bathroom in a new cindo and my current tub - in the old house- is 56" long on the inside. Trying to get close to that.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 29 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Tub This tub is exactly what we were expecting. Basic but still nice. We never use a tub, but still wanted to keep one in the house. This one is easy to clean and looks good. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful small tub Looks great in my bathroom and deeper than I thought. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good basic tub Replaced a fiberglass tub enclosure with this and tile above. I was pleased that even I could maneuver it around by myself, in opening the box to inspect it for defects. Installed easily and I like the lower height for ease of step-in. No complaints. It's a good basic tub. In my search, HD had the best price on it. October 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As good as it gets for the price! The tub was on sale - at a great price~ No damage or flaws once we took it out of the box. The new Ameri-cast material is considerably lighter than the older cast iron/porcelain tub that we replaced making it much easier to get into the area than it was to get the old one out! :) The ONLY hitch in the whole purchase was the expected delivery date to the store. Had nothing to do with the product, so I'm not counting it against in the review. That did, however, delay the start of our bathroom remodel - which meant it didn't get done by Christmas. :( January 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good tub I replaced my old bathtub with the same model. I considered cast iron but thought it would not fit well in my situation. The previous tub was fine and this one looks like it will be too (recent installation). The only thing about it that I wish could be better is the color. The tub is white. But next to my new bright white tile, it does not quite match in whiteness - but I am picky. It's a good tub, great value. I had it professionally installed so I can't comment on the ease of installation personally. The contractor did not have any difficulty with it. May 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great affordable tub Second time I have used this tub in a kid's bath remodel. Very affordable and perfect for kid's bathroom. Like the low weight and ease of installing. Insulation keeps the water warm longer (kids stay happy longer which means mom stays happy longer which means dad (me) stays happy longer too!). Arrived at HD store in perfect condition and got it up the stairs without an issue. If you're doing a Master bath, may want to consider a deeper version of this tub instead. Again, very, very happy with this for a kid's bath. April 30, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Composite better than metal I had to replace a steel tub which had chipped off some porcelain and can not be repaired. That is the problem with steel tubs. I looked for cast iron but not many being made and the price too high. I read the review on the steel tub mentioning this brand and material so I looked and it had great reviews so I ordered it. It is not as deep as the old tub but it is good enough it is going into the pool bathroom. It is made from some kind of composite like ABS plastic so it is thicker than the steel keep that in mind for the drain. It was the best quality for the least amount of money. April 30, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Everything the negative reviews say is true There are lots of things to potentially love about this tub. It's not particularly expensive, but what's really cool is that it's shallower than the typical tub. If you having someone who would benefit from having to step into lower tub, then it's really perfect. In our case, we wanted it because we have two young children and the lower tub walls make it easier to bathe them while being outside of the tub. Anyway, functionality-wise, it's exactly what we had hoped for, however everything you read in the negative reviews is true -- this tub chips just from looking at it the wrong way. We've had the tub for two weeks and a chip appeared. We don't even know when the chip happened as it just seemed to appear there one day. Nothing hard has ever been in the tub so we have no idea how it even happened. Shallower tubs are a rare find, but I suggest you re-think this one before you pull the trigger. September 19, 2014
