We are replacing a fiberglass tub-shower unit from the 70's and want to have this tub; plan a swanstone surround.

Answer:
A right hand drain means the drain hole is on the right as you are stepping into the tub and a left hand drain is the drain hole on the left as you step into the tub. Thank you.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bathtub Tub is nice, we love the color (Bone), haven't used it yet tho. July 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by If you have the space, go for a larger tub. This tub is too shallow and too narrow -- down where you are sitting, the inside dimensions are only about 49"L x 21"W 13"D. The porcelain is extremely thin; I already have a scrape that goes all the way through to the cast iron that was made by a workman. I can't imagine this tub holding up to the rigors of kids and their toys.  August 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best bath tub for kids The Princeton tub is the best bathtub for kids. It offers great kid-friendly benefits. I like the full slip-resistant surface, it keeps my kids from falling, even with our soft well-water. My kids like that this tub is deeper, flatter and roomier than older cast iron type tubs because the have room to stretch out and play. We all agree that the Americast Brand Engineered Material is genius as it keeps the bath water warmer for longer. Sometimes too long as my kids don't want to get out of the bathtub ever since the water stays so warm! :) This is an excellent choice for any bathroom, but especially for kids and elderly to prevent falls. Read my full review on AkronOhioMoms website. My review was that of my own experience, thank you American Standard for the review items for my blog. March 18, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bathtub for New Home It's been over 20 years since I've had to purchase a bathtub & I am very disappointed with the standard size tub of 14in tall- way to short for my family. May need to send back to get a taller tub. The color is fabulous, but again the height is too short. September 28, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tub! I just had this tub installed and it looks great. It's very comfortable if you like to lay in the tub and soak for a while...the back reclines and then angles at the top so you don't get a stiff neck. I would highly recommend this tub! April 12, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by using americast since 1990 In 1990 was looking for a good substitute for cast iron, americast had just come out and the sales man at the supply house said it was the best thing sinced sliced bread. Having heard those word before I first installed it in my own house, after 21 years it still look great and works great. It is my standard tub for all instalations that the owner wants a tub shower combination. never had a recall, does't rust or rot like many steel tubs good product for any standard bath. May 17, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice tub! This is a very nice tub. The quality is great. I like that fact that it is americast so it is not a flimsy product. I do not like the non slid bottom, because over time it will look dirty and darken. This is not a tub that we use, so it doesn't matter to me as much as others. Also, be careful of the color. I purchased this tub to match other fixtures in my bathroom made by Toto and this color has a yellowish tint to it. January 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Like this tub I really like this tub but the bottom makes crackle sounds while taking a shower.  May 12, 2014
