Customer Questions & Answers

does faucet lever position to shut off water flow completely have to return to center position?

does faucet lever position, to shut off water flow completely, have to be returned to center position? I am looking for one that does NOT have to be returned to center. please help
Asked by: mercie4205
no you do not have to return it to the center position but of course you do need to pull it forward and down as in most others. Example: if you have the lever more to the left and the water you're using is very warm and you want to use the same setting, then you simply leave the handle/ lever to the left but only pull the lever down/ forward as normal, therefore, the handle position you were using is the same and all you do to use that setting again is to lift up the handle to the desired water pressure while leaving the handle positioned to the left as it was previously.

Number of Holes Actually Used

In the case of the kitchen faucet I am replacing, the water supply lines both go to a center hole. The spray has a separate hole. The supply for the spray goes under the sink from the center hole to the spray. There are no other holes in the sink. Also, copper supply lines that are about 12" long are an integral part of the faucets. They protrude below the bottom of the sinks. As a result, it is easy to connect the water supply to these copper supply lines. My question is whether the American Standard Reliant Faucet offered here is similar to my old faucet in these two respects. Thanks!
Asked by: John
This faucet requires 4 holes and will not work with your sink.

Is there a repair kit for this faucet?

The spout is difficult to turn and makes a noise. I suspect the seals need replacing. I purchased the unit at my local HD.
Asked by: Purebred
No repair kit comes with the product.

Do you measure sprout height from the base to the handle? Thanks

Do you measure sprout height from the base to the handle? Thanks
Asked by: sheena
7-5/8" is the measurement of the spout and it is measured from the finished countertop to the top of the spout.

Customer Reviews

Reliant+ Single-Handle Standard Kitchen Faucet with Side Sprayer in Polished Chrome is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this faucet.Easy Install but the sprayer handle is not the one pictured on the website. This one is smooth handled Only giving this a Three Star rating because the image shows a hand sprayer with finger grooves and the one I received is smooth (see my pics) Otherwise this is definitely a heavier, solid, well built product the American Standard brand is known for. Was very easy to install. I've not had any problems or anything to complain about, no unusual Sprayer Valve thump when the sprayer is activated, as others have stated, this one is quiet. Water pressure improved a bit, definitely improved from the sprayer itself compared to the Moen brand we just replaced with this one. Moen had a built in sprayer, was also the main water spout, we had nothing but trouble with it. Bottom Line: I recommend the American Standard brand, and take your time to install correctly. You'll be very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Faucet at a Great Price This an extremely solid product, as in a chrome plated cast brass body. Installation presented no surprises; very simple and straightforward. Fit and finish are excellent, and maintenance appears easy, though with ceramic valves, I don't expect to replace many cartridges. My only gripe is that compared to my previous American Standard Colony faucet, the sprayer has significantly reduced pressure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice heavy duty faucet. Nice heavy faucet. Not to much trouble to install it.Time will tell how well it holds up, but it looks like it's made to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good faucet Nice looking and heavily built, easy to install and smooth action. You do NOT have to return to the center position to turn off the water. Much better than the one I bought from the local plumbing store. A terrific value for a household that does NOT have to comply with lo flo GPM regs. Am Std has the lo flo version too but it is more $$.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it was easy to install! I went to my local Home Depot before reading the on-line reviews, and bought a $65 Delta faucet at the store that "looked" like the one I was replacing. The box was so light! Then I read the reviews, that said it was garbage. So I ordered this one on-line, as I realized the one I was replacing was an American Standard. It arrived quickly, and was HEAVY! As the other reviews stated, the removal of the old one was the fun part. The new install took less than 5 minutes. Quality faucet

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned It It seemed to be very well made, ( the faucet was heavy to hold). I liked the way the side spray connected to the faucet, meaning that there was no special type connection to fail. It just screwed on. But the spray hose curled into a knot after every use. Also had a problem with water flow, less than 1 gpm. Although I cleaned the aerator and cartridge several times. Only had it 1 week.I liked it but couldn't keep it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wrong faucet! This is a great faucet. However, we were unable to use it because we couldn't find a way to cap the line to the side sprayer and, since we rent, we couldn't cut a hole in the sink for the sprayer. Our local Home Depot store very easily accepted our return and immediately issued a refund, which we used to buy the identical faucet without a side sprayer.
