What is the issue with this spout? I have had my contractor install this spout 6 times (2 bathrooms just remodeled with same tub spout, replaced three times each). It continues to leak when the diverter is pulled. What's causing this spout to leak?

Asked by: Paulabear05
It sounds like there may be a warped seal inside. The spout or if it has a spout repair kit will need to be replaced. Please contact our customer care line at 800-442-1902 for parts assistance.

Asked by: Keith
There is a screw under the spout that you need to remove and replace to take the spout off.

I was impressed with the finish, look and overall build quality of this tub spout. Be advised that it is strictly a slip-on spout designed to fit over a 1/2-inch bare copper pipe, and will not work with a 1/2-inch nipple connection. I would have kept this installed, but what I found in my case was that the narrow opening of the spout created enough back pressure in my installation to cause water to back up to the shower heads. It did this even after I replaced my original piping of 1/2-inch Pex and Sharkbite connections at the valve and a 90-degree drop elbow with a sweated bare copper pipe, elbow and connection to the valve. Unfortunately I ended up having to replace this spout with a Speakman Neo with nearly identical styling but a bigger opening at the end of the spout, which solved the problem. For a tub-only install, I'd highly recommend this spout. If you're installing with a shower in mind, be mindful that the narrow spout opening on this may cause issues with a dripping shower head when filling the tub.
