how can I remove the flapper. It is attached by a plastic rod on bottom.

If you have the champion then all you need to do is unthread the wing nut on the green dome on the top of the valve.

I am pretty sure that i need to install one of those plates on the floor that the toilet sits on. It leaks a little hear and there and i think the floor surface was not very good when it was set. it was new tile. Will this plate give me the flat surface i need for the toilet? if so, where can i purchase the correct one. I dont mind buying it on line if need be and what would be the part number.

I am not sure exactly what you mean by a plate. The wax ring provides the seal between the toilet and the flange. it smooshes down when the bowl is set down and provides the seal and compensates for uneven floors. If there is some leakage, either the wax ring was not positioned properly or it was too thin. I suggest you buy a thicker wax ring (in extreme cases you can put two wax rings one on top of the other), so that the thickness of the wax ring is greater than the distance from the bottom of the toilet bowl to the flange all around and reseat the toilet bowl again. That should then not leak. Good luck Toilet guy at American Standard

I installed one of these in a half bath a few years ago. Great Toilet. The flange was in concrete so I could not have changed the location. The tank sits 4-5" from the wall. I am remodeling an upstairs bathroom and replacing the old lead drain pipe that runs to the cast iron one behind the wall with PVC. What would be a good distance (from center of flange) to set the flange out from the wall to get the tank closer to the wall? Thanks for your support.

Customer Reviews

Skyline Champion 4 2-Piece 1.6 GPF Right Height Elongated Toilet in White is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with New Toilet Just wanted to let you know we received the Champion toilet a couple of weeks ago, and have now had it installed and have been using it for a few days. So far, it appears that it has completely solved the flushing problems we were having with the other model. It has been tested with some pretty big loads, and hasn't failed once to completely flush on the first try. Once we got used to the initial pop when it flushes we appreciate the otherwise quiet flush. I'd like to let you know how much we appreciate your sending us the new unit and that we will recommend (and put in the houses that we are developing) the American Standard Champion model toilet. Thanks again for your help and excellent customer service and support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Flush for the buck The Champion 4 was a tad more expensive than some models, but I guess you get what you pay for so I'm not complaining. This thing works great! The old "budget" toilet constantly plugged up several times a week. The Champion 4 hasn't plugged up even once in the two months since I installed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plunger Enters Retirement, Thanks to New A couple of months ago I had to put a new toilet in because of your add about the golf ball flushing toilet. I bought one and to my amazement it worked just as advertised. Now we can retire the plunger from almost daily use to not used any more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super flusher Tried one in a hotel & was impressed with the flushing while still saving water. Real tired of dealing with a bargain watersaver toilet that would clog on a weekly basis.
