What are the "claiimed" 3 functions in the product description: "Single-Handle 3-Function" ?

I just bought this and expected an honest 3 function handle like the competitors advertise. This is just a standard on/off faucet.... "American Standard Town Square Single-Handle 3-Function Shower Only Trim Kit in Polished Chrome Less Rough Valve Body"
Asked by: eric
Water-Saving FloWise 3-function showerhead, the faucet does not have 3 functions.

How does one determine which rough in valve body to order? Ken Z

Asked by: 4pups
You would need to refer to the specification sheet on American Standards website as it would be listed there.

Town Square 1-Handle Shower Faucet Trim Kit in Satin Nickel (Valve Sold Separately) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent quality but there are a few things to know about The Town Square 3-Function Shower trim in Satin Nickel looks great and works well. There are a couple of things, however, that I did not fully understand at the time I ordered and installed them. The 3-Function shower head, by-fault, stays in low-flow mode at 2 GPM. With the water running and the shower going the user can change the head to two higher flow rates, up to a maximum of 2.5 GPM. When you shut the water off, the head automatically resets back to water-saver mode. I personally was a bit annoyed to discover this and realize you could not set this to start in higher flow mode. By design, you will start each shower back in low-flow mode and adjust higher if you want it. Now, as I've gotten used to it I am tending to leave it in low-flow mode since it does save water and, in the long run, money. However, I would have liked to be aware of the way this works from the start and the description on the website really doesn't provide you with this detail. The second feature to know is that the satin nickel finish tends to show water spots after each shower. It looks great when you wipe it (much nicer than chrome in my opinion) but there is the need to stay on top of those water spots. I am experimenting with various faucet polishes as a solution (I've read Meguires carnuba car wax and a faucet wax product called Flitz both solve the problem). However, again, I would have liked to know what I was getting into before having to discover this little problem myself.
